i think the desire for movie-like presentation and prestige has absolutely obliterated the listenability of most game soundtracks

The key is to use a scanner adapter that holds the picture just off the surface of the glass using double-sided tape. Then it’s a lot easier to dial in some editor settings to make it look like the actual picture, which shouldn’t take much, and then those settings can be used for every picture ✨

I lightly edit to make them look as close to the actual picture as possible, because you’re always gonna lose something to the scanner. But that’s it! They’re as authentic as I can get them

The presentation? Buddy that’s exactly what I want this meal to look like

I find instant film freeing because the picture is what it is. I’m not using a tripod, or a light meter, or any other tool but my hands and the camera. They’re never gonna be perfectly leveled, or centered, or lit exactly the way I imagined, and I’m going to live with it and love them
