Still standing. Did not totally botch the leak soup thing. Appreciative this thread is here and not on Instagram which could have been bad.

I am thinking that a cold martini right out of the gate is a good move. "it goes with dinner" is a true statement.

i see i have "baby" dill which sounds a lot cuter tbh

also chopping the dill but I guess this gets added at the end so if a certain someone does not like dill no harm no foul

i am rarely bitter about this but my purple potatoes did not make purple mashed potatoes and I was sort of upset.\

are they like purple potatoes because I wanted purple mashed potatoes and that did not work out for me.

look it was a mistake. But once you start slicing a leak you are sort of committed.

pizza is also gourmet. I bet I could get pizza delivered if this does not work out.

I have decided that for tonight I wlll be "gourmet" we will see how this turns out.

Honestly I should read these recipes more in advance. I see i have a choice of long grain rices. I have rice. I don't even want to look to see if it is "long grain"

now noticing that the carrot was "optional" what does that say if you were a carrot.

I am not going to link the recipe I am sure it will be very tasty. Spousal unit is out paddling in the dark and is counting on a warm bowl of something when she gets home. I'm using my house made chicken stock which covers a lot of sins.

how was I to know the difference between 3 "medium" leeks and 2 "large" leeks. it's not like they come with "i'm big" labels. Note to future self, leeks get a lot smaller when you start cooking them.

i should have sliced the third leek.
