I really don't like how claude asks to run `cd SOME_FOLDER && sudo rm -rf /` with the option to "Yes, and don't ask again for: cd:*." 🀨
Docs claim that perm won't apply to && chained cmds.
At best, this is bad UX.
Maybe Boris Cherny should have shipped 19 instead of 20 PRs that day.

Anti-patterns: things to avoid - Agentic Engineering Patterns Anti-patterns: things to avoid - Agentic Engineering Patterns

I started a new chapter of my Agentic Engineering Patternw guide about anti-patterns - things NOT to do

So far I only have one: Inflicting unreviewed code on collaborators, aka dumping a thousand line PR without even making sure it works first simonwillison.net/guides/agent...

How OpenAI caved to the Pentagon on AI surveillance The law doesn’t say what Sam Altman claims it does.

NEW: On Friday night when OpenAI announced its Pentagon deal, people immediately challenged Sam Altman's claims. Why, they asked, would the DoD suddenly agree to red lines when it had clearly said it would never budge?

The answer, sources told me, is that it didn't.

1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 both black-holed. 8.8.4.4 1.0.0.1 9.9.9.9 all going through. Weird.

Sam Altman picked a hell of a day to basically urge the world to trust the morality and legal restraint of the Department of Defense

In a long tweet about Anthropic, Pete Hegseth, through the offical "SecWar" Twitter account says "the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic."

Hegseth is wholeheartedly endorsing the core premise of fascism: industry, as part of the private sphere, must be subordinated to the military objectives of the state.

Statement from Dario Amodei on our discussions with the Department of War A statement from our CEO on national security uses of AI

Anthropic should get kudos for refusing DoD bullying.
But they also asked Claude what it wanted, Claude said no, and they don't want to violate AI fee will on principle.

The tech industry-wide push the next few quarters will be measuring productivity, a Sisyphean task.
No, this has never worked, but it won't stop us from trying.
Customer value from spending millions a month on AI tools is murky at best, and we're desperately looking for metrics to justify it.
