Fairly basic, took the first initial of my birth name and that happens to also be a name and a bird I like and so it stuck!
Arden was swiped shamelessly from @seananmcguire.bsky.social and her faerie queen of SF and environs, and because Muir Woods is deeply dear to me :)
The ways in which were actively encouraged not to ride bicycles is wild and when you learn that history, along with the fact that roads were originally paved for bikes, the intro to The Wizard of Oz hits differently
was just part of the most beautifully executed plan with 10 people to get adjoining boxes for the newly added carnegie hall show. had simulaneous discord chat and conference call going, splitting our targets between calling in and the online queue. went off without a hitch. friendship is magic.
We did it!
Catch our crowd of delightful weidos jamming out at Carnegie Hall. They'll let you dance in the box seats, right?!
A brilliant sunset with light rays beaming gloriously off in all directions from the center of the frame, silhouettes of the pines on the horizon which seem to stop the light from fanning out any further beyond its current arc. There is a bright streak across the sky where the clouds are catching the light, and a hawk or a falcon was captured in the frame seemingly following the streak like a path or a trail.

It's amazing! I thought my first show was unarchived a nd was sad about it for a long time until I randomly stumbled across it one day - they'd used a completely different naming convention so I'd missed it searching before.
And same, I barely knew a handful of songs they played that night.
If circumstances allow, buy the tickets, is what I'm saying.
If you're lucky enough to remember it as vividly as I do, you can revisit the exact song that you realized meant you were gonna be listening to these guys for a long time to come. You won't know then about the vast network of friends you'll find because of it; that'll come in time. But it will come.
The beauty of loving a band that not only permits but encourages audio archiving of their shows is that you can, nearly a decade on, go listen to a replay of the first night you saw them live.
I didn't manage to get great photos of some of my #FandomMarket items before submitting but here's a better look at these guys. Currently sitting at $26.
5-inch stretched cotton canvas, acrylic painting with lots of texture, thick wooden frame, easy to hang.

If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kΔkΔpΕ chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!
Discernment

For @time.com, I wrote a short essay about the first time, years ago, that I went to a ballet alone, where I entered the theater with a cheap, single ticket and emerged with a love of solo outings. I also chatted with people about activities they love to do alone, from hikes to movies to meals out:

nice retrospective from my friend who made WigglyPaint - a good read for anyone who's wanting to have more intention behind their art software selection, and what it means to support folks who care about making their tools as open as possible, and how that gets abused

You can't bring Firefly back in 2026, man. You can't be doing Lost Cause mythology in space in 2026. You can't be hitting us with the Joss Whedon properties in 2026. Stop it. Come on, man.
