It is impossible for anyone younger the 50 to understand how grotesque and unoriginal this is. Itโ€™s always the small group of advisors or tactical team.

"What has changed compared to previous oil crises and oil price scares - even the 2021-22 one - is how affordable the clean energy solutions needed to replace oil and gas imports are."
This is the KEY point made by @laurimyllyvirta.bsky.social

Venezuela.
Greenland.
Iran.
Now Cuba is โ€œnext.โ€

This isnโ€™t foreign policy, itโ€™s a dangerous pattern of escalation and imperialism. Americans didnโ€™t vote for a President who treats the world like a list of countries to conquer.

Bessent says the Trump admin may now lift sanctions on even more Russian oil to try and reduce oil prices during Trumpโ€™s war. This would provide a massive injection of cash to fund Putinโ€™s war machine.

On Fourth Amendment issues, some conservative justices are persuadable, enough to count at least to 5 at least some of the time. Advocates should not abdicate their clients to despair. Tools like this law review article can help.

Some Supreme Court Justices think that viewing the Fourth Amendment as a right to "privacy" is an illegitimate 1960s Warren Court policy invention. But it's not: That language goes back to the beginning, as I showed in this 2022 article. scholarship.law.duke.edu/cgi/viewcont...

Iโ€™m not an expert, but it seems *very* bad that this tornado is so far north this early in the year and is as strong as it looks in the video ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

this whole thing is incredibly insulting to everyone's intelligence, but i'll say, from experience, that if you get a tattoo which might have even the slightest hint of a hidden meaning, every rando who thinks they know anything about tattoos is going to mention something to you about it

06.03.2026 22:09 ๐Ÿ‘ 498 ๐Ÿ” 44 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 22 ๐Ÿ“Œ 5

I believe it was @golikehellmachine.com who first observed here that if he ever had his shirt off in front of a tattooist while getting his other work done, they would have noticed his Nazi tattoo & engaged him forcefully on the question of why he had it, & whether he wanted to be rid of it

The average voter is not as hyper-informed of every Graham Platner development as people are On Here. In Maine, they go to his rallies, get motivated and love his no-nonsense regular guy shtick.

Many will be surprised when Susan Collins and her Super PACs vaporize him with Nazi ads this summer.

It does terrible fucking things to your mind if you stop getting feedback like "dude what the fuck are you talking about?"

Just look at how literally any billionaire speaks.

04.03.2026 15:43 ๐Ÿ‘ 248 ๐Ÿ” 36 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 4 ๐Ÿ“Œ 2

In the absence of this feedback which a human would provide, anchoring them in consensus reality, they spin off into the deep end.

And you get people talking like heavily concussed oracles.

04.03.2026 15:38 ๐Ÿ‘ 126 ๐Ÿ” 12 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

These people stop getting the very most basic feedback on whether they are successfully communicating.

"Wait, what the fuck are you talking about? What the hell are you even trying to express here? You're using that word really weird, what the hell do you think it means?"

04.03.2026 15:37 ๐Ÿ‘ 125 ๐Ÿ” 8 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Have you noticed that people who spend too long chatting with chatbots, stop making any fucking kind of sense?

The reason why is that the bot will never, ever, go "what the fuck are you talking about? What are you even trying to communicate here?"

I grew up in a blue collar house, had ballet lessons for a while, and knew opera singers. Working people make art!

06.03.2026 23:13 ๐Ÿ‘ 8 ๐Ÿ” 2 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's okay if you yourself don't like ballet or opera. My primary concern for both art forms is that they need funding and the artists need support.

It takes many hours to build the artists these arts can show through. We also need to feed the young and developing artists ballets and operas!

Brett McGurk: A Hero of Our Time Every generation of American diplomats has a figure who becomes the face of the era in foreign policy, a Dean Acheson, Henry Kissinger, or Richard Holbrooke. The years of pain and sorrow otherwise kno...

This scathing article in New Lines is a pretty good summation of McGurk and his rotten legacy. โ€œBrett only meets people who speak English. โ€ฆ There are like four people in the government who speak English. And somehow heโ€™s now the person who should decide the fate of Iraq? How did this happen?โ€
