Interesting that my company (small startup) also just went through this motion. We have cancelled our Cursor subscription.

I've already left for LibreWolf, but this is interesting and trending in the right direction.
This is important to pay attention to. Trump's saying the quiet part of the plan out loud. With the midterms increasingly looking like a bloodbath for the GOP, he's calling on the Republicans to take over the election. This is what an attempt to end democracy looks like. Read @ariberman.bsky.social
Say it again! AI isn't taking your job, the C-suite is, and using Gen AI as the excuse.
LLM was local, so I didn't have to worry about any training issues!
I used an LLM to summarize my daily notes from 2025, and it's cool to get back a high level prespective on the year.
Supplemented it with git history, and it was actually quite insightful!
It's actually really sad because it's a story about monopoly power in the market generally.
Product sucks? Who cares, consumers really don't have much choice, what are they going to do? Go to a competitor? They will have slop and god damn enjoy it.
I guess I'm not any better, I have a full blown Rails app to serve processed markdown files as a documentation site! haha
It's also a full blown nextjs app that reads from a markdown file, which boggles my mind.
The state of our politics is such that Carney, an ostensibly right-centre candidate in the old school liberal tradition, was considered a "left wing" option in our latest election.
How badly have the federal NDP stumbled that we're in this situation?
It's from 2024 too, wow.
I actually can't believe this is a legit blog post.
This is what bothers me most about folks complaining about discourse online being "disrespectful" - what he was peddling was not respectful. Racism is not respectful, misogyny is not respectful, inciting violence and celebrating when trans folks take their own lives is not respectful.
Respectability politics is a hell of a drug.
I believe this is also what happened to @rachelgilmore.bsky.social here in Canada. Shame on legacy media. It's abundantly clear they don't serve truth or justice.
Her marketing is actually quite genius. Low media literacy folks see what you saw initially, but anyone that actually pays attention will see the absurdity inherent in the content.
"Doing the bare minimum will get you a woman like me." Is the literal reading, but that's the joke!
I'm pretty tech savvy, and re-writing the partition data on my boot drive from MBT (legacy mode) to GPT using a command line tool was like "yeah no normal user is gunna bother with this." Then I had to update some BIOS settings afterwards cause my PC reported no boot media after said change.
yeah, for real.
In light of Pride month I'm fundraising for Point of Pride, an incredible trans-led nonprofit that provides direct gender affirming care & things like HRT to trans ppl in need.
Please, please donate any small amount that you can. Every bit makes a major impact! secure.givelively.org/donate/point...
Let's build together at RailsConf's Hack Spaces on July 9th. I'm Mike Dalessio, maintainer of the sqlite3-ruby gem.
Rubyists! I'll be co-hosting a SQLite "office hours" with all-around good guy @fractaledmind.bsky.social at the final #RailsConf in Philly (on Day 2 of the conf!)
If you've got any questions about using SQLite or deploying it into production, we'd love to help!

Man, Bluesky golf feeds are anemic.
Killing it haha
It's actually kind of nuts how rabid the Republicans are when it comes to this kind of thought policing. r/conservative on Reddit is another great example. Performing conservatism is of utmost importance. I mean, it makes sense because the value system is extremely deferential to authority...
Democrats who want to move away from small dollar donors are actually Republicans and no, you cannot change my mind:
Say it again!
Nice, looks good! Thanks!

As of March 2025, 13% of Canadians see the United States as an enemy and another 38% see it as a potential threat.
51% of Canadians believe the government should approach the United States as a threat or as an enemy. Far fewer now see it as a friend or ally.
Canadians have a less favourable view of the US than India, a country which murdered Canadian citizens on Canadian soil.
Really looking forward to the bubble pop.
It's actually amazing how quickly the institutions of American democracy have toppled over.
We're watching America barrel into a constitutional crisis of a magnitude of which I don't think is appreciated in mainstream media (Manufactured Consent and all)...
