I rly miss my locked other place account but I will not go back there as even 2 minutes looking at quite a curated feed makes me feel super angry.
Feeling really up for the busy day I have today, which is nice. Although a busy day at home is a different affair to a busy day out of the house.
Fucking hell. A synagogue conducting active shooter training isnβt proof that an attack on the synagogue was a false flag any more than a school conducting active shooter training is proof that school shootings are false flags. Synagogues are community hubs and receive threats *constantly*.
Text from the book DIY Culture: The White Book was a project by Justice? in Brighton to publish a directory of activist groups in Britain. When it was completed and published in 1995 it was renamed The Book βWe asked some black groups why they hadn't responded and were answered by looks of incredulity - we're stupid.
Christ.
I remember when he βsold out Norwich Waterfrontβ
Right. 3000 words into my lit review now, which is probably just under halfway? Feel like I've still got a lot to get in.
I absolutely do!
The opposite of what we have at the moment! I have a mild theory about the "wrong" people ending up in DEI roles because people w/ lived experience are so much more likely to burnout due to coming up against endless "no"s to their own inclusion. But I am absolutely SURE someone has written on that.
Ooooh, yes that looks useful! Thank you!
OH! Minority tax!
Hmm, I am maybe thinking of invisible labour?
I can find a fair bit about how teachers, social workers and nurses experience this in advocating for others, but not much in the sense of it being yourself and others like you that you have to fight for.
Has anybody got a good academic reading on the concept of "self-advocacy fatigue/burnout"? As in, when having to be an advocate and role model for your own identity/rights becomes exhausting? #AutRes #AskingAutistics #Neurodiversity
Yup
Finally got round to rebooking an appointment with university disability services today. Last time I tried they cancelled it and I did the obvious adhd thing of never remembering to rebook.
Please do not read this if it might be triggering, but this is a really excellent bit of journalism and a story which needs to be shared.

Amazing how much more ready you feel for life after a good nightβs sleep. Yesterday everything felt fully unmanageable.
we dare you to find a museum more ready
What they say is "Everyone wants to be Autistic"
They mean "Everyone wants compassion and accommodation for their sensory sensitivities and social tolerances"
& like - fuck yeah we do!
But they also are implying they will NOT recognize our needs and WON'T support them, so that's not a safe person
This KEEPS happening to me. And since I have an interest in inclusive education, itβs very often children who have died as well. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
On Uta Frith, its worth noting she's been doing this kind of thing for decades. In her 2008 book "Autism: A Very Short Introduction" she wrote that attempt to shift from a deficit to difference perspective is "peverse" and said that if you hold that perspective then the book is "not for you".
When my three year old son is sat on the loo doing a poo, he pulls a face that looks just like Michael Gove and it haunts me.
Thatβs Fin.
Did you not also recognise our cats?
Christ my skeets are very boring at the moment. Have some cats (and a Dan)

This seems very bad. We need to be self-sufficient in food now more than ever.
