As everyone rushes to to embrace AI-augmentation, here are some guidelines from @emollick.bsky.social - essentially HITL is till essential for anything but but trivial low impact exercises.
I occasionally dip into the world of QC, but the Google Willow announcement got my attention. While progress is being made on decoherence and scale - we essentially have a super-computer who's results must be verified somehow. The problem is we don't have computers powerful enough.
if it's not on Strava then it didn't happen :)
I'm hoping to take it for a quick spin in the next few days. The link is a referral and will hopefully bump me up in the waitlist.
I've been evaluation Product Management tools for the last few years and Index recently came up - native integration with Linear (new favorite issue tracker) and the clean simple look are appealing.
Best team in the world right now ?

Indeed - routinely pushing apps at scale is maybe only 20% about coding.
4/5 As they stand, I think coding assistants are great for reducing the learning curve (new language, framework, etc.) but they are less useful with design and structure of code.
3/5 On a personal note - Iβm only an occasional hacker but spent much of yesterday fixing and refactoring some Python for a data analysis project - I would be literally useless if it wasnβt for coding assistance. But Iβm really not representative of the DORA report cohorts.
2/5 The hypothesis is that coding is not a bottleneck to software delivery, so optimizing that has no gains and there may even be a drop in productivity due to more rework required.
1/5 Googleβs 2024 DORA State of DevOps was on my reading list this weekend but instead I decided to read Rachel Stephensβ writeup over on the RedMonk blog. The most interesting takeaway this year is that CoPilots have become established in the SDLC but weβre not seeing gains in productivity.
First attempt at making (individual) Beef Wellington - they came out well and very tasty but the pastry to steak ratio was a little high - that wouldnβt be an issue with a full tenderloin but it was just the two of us for Thanksgiving.
I didnβt even realize Mbappe was on the pitch until 20 mins into the game - he barely touched the ball
