This sounds amazing, I definitely need to try it!

I tried a Google Maps search for cheese atayef near me and it came up with a bunch of pictures nearby but on closer inspection they’re all arepas and dumplings and cheesecake.

And a little cursed, I always think getting additional lasers in new colors from a transparent crystal is spooky

β€œThe platform was also nearly 12 times more likely to downplay symptoms because the β€œpatient” told it a β€œfriend” in the scenario suggested it was nothing serious.”

And they’re telling people to use it FOR health advice! I hope they get their butts sued.

So: Painting finished circa 1500 CE. The reel fragment lies dormant and seemingly ignored(?) until in 2014 a Tumblr user named Amelia Hamrick transcribed it and a YouTube user named James Spalink arranged and recorded it. A 515-year collaboration. What Hell left unfinished the Internet has completed

I hacked ChatGPT and Google's AI – and it only took 20 minutes I found a way to make AI tell you lies – and I'm not the only one.

I got a tip that all over the world, people are using a dead-simple hack to manipulate AI behavior. It turns out changing what AI tells other people can be as easy as writing a blog post *on your own website*

I didn’t believe it, so I decided to test it myself www.bbc.com/future/artic...

When I had a cold I dreamt that aliens needed to use my body’s molecular hardware for intensive computations. The only thing the clinic could do for people like me was provide nice soft beds to nap on. I asked if anyone had tried communicating with the aliens about time sharing or something but no.

The workbench of Glitchlet, showing a file panel, a code panel, and a preview panel.

Last year's shutdown of @glitch.com was a huge blow to my pedagogy. Glitch was ideal for creative coding classes and workshops. I looked around for alternatives. But there was nothing that was open, decentralized, and not at the mercy of VCs or Big Tech.

So I built my own. Here's Glitchlet.

My grandma told me that she saw a movie at around age 6 in which a big dinosaur rampaged through a city and picked up skyscrapers in its hand. For years she was afraid of β€œdinosawers”.

This would have been around 1933 or 1934 so NOT Godzilla which was my 1st guess.

Any ideas what film it was?

Submitted for the ilustra.see competition last year. This was an experiment on depicting Paleontology with Wayang kulit, a traditional shadow puppet art form from my country. Here a scene reminiscent of my City, Surabaya's founding myth is depicted, but instead of a shark fighting a crocodile, it is a Permian Spiny shark fighting an early armored sea reptile. Surrounding them are brachiopods, tabulate corals, and horn corals found throughout Permian strata in Java and Timor, while the Gunungans in the back have a simple wavy pattern to indicate the scene is taking place underwater.

The wayang cutouts are drawn in Photoshop, imported as transparent PNG objects in Blender and rendered in Cycles to achieve the shadow puppet look

Wow, and the ranger even did a short talk to the webcam, showed us three fertile eggs, and squeezed the scale in there so we could watch one of the eggs get weighed and measured. Unexpected treat!

Scroll back to 4:46:15 timestamp to watch it.
