AH so that is whats called a line trace! It's pretty much shooting a line from Bod towards the wall to get an idea of where the wall is and what angle it's at so that Bod accurately moves along it! I use checks like this also to see if Bod is about to hit a corner.

A two panel comic of Ingrid responding to the idea of being paid to share her "knowledge", she explains that they got the order wrong, and knowing (presumably terrible) things is actually the cost of understanding. Her body language changes in the second panel, looking straight at the camera as her ears perk up, and her stray tufts of hair raise upwards, as does her tail.
re: someone offering kisses as payment for her wisdom
Thanks! Yeah took a lot of effort to get the lighting down on this one, but I'm pretty dang happy with the end result!

A reference sheet of my fursona Pazz. Detailed notes say "Soft shell chassis" and "world's most expensive fursuit." Side drawings point out the double jointed nature of their arms and legs, what they look like without the soft parts (terminator-like) and a goofy drawing of a cat face on a computer that says "I'm ya computah! Stop all da downloadin'!"
A ref sheet? Of ME? Unheard of...
Enjoy cyber cat :)

Ah thank you Fivel ;o;!!!!
but overall I'd say for the lighting, the cast shadows are pretty weak on your pic. As a general rule, most values that are in the shadows should never read as lighter than any of the colors in the light. Don't be afraid to increase the shadow depth a bit, saving the darkest portions for occlusion.
So taking time to lasso select different color regions before color shifting to have a more natural color helps a ton. In general with multiply or screen blend layers it can be way too easy to go too far with the saturations, so don't be afraid to tone them back their saturations just a bit!
Gotcha! So when it comes to lighting like this, one thing that I found helps a ton is making sure to tweak blend mode layers to match the flats they are getting added to. When folks use 1 color for a multiply/darken or a screen/lighten it can tend to mix up the temperatures of the colors.
Yeee I need to do some more with Ames down the road!
