every tutorial i see is like,,, clipart. i wanna get good at like lighting and surface rendering bcuz i like it and it seems fun, but idk what you can even do within the bounds of vector art

realising that raster art will never be an option for me bcuz of hand issues, so if i wanna get into high res 2d art i need to learn vector art
what kind of shading is even possible with vector art though
IT FINALLY HAPPENED
we were editing this thing for *months*
actual physics-based movement (bhopping/strafejumping) instead of a dash ability. i'm tired of movement shooters that are actually just character action games and have no way to build momentum
what would be super nice is if there's a vector art program that lets me write shaders to apply like,, texture to shapes. i want to get good at shaders for gamedev stuff, and that'd be a fun way to learn and practice
affinity free version,,,, maybe once i finish my current fluff4me project it's time to give art another shot
been curious how mouse-friendly vector art drawing is, since i can't use a drawing tablet
Reposting because we still need like $7k before the end of the year >.< If we can get through this we'll be okay, it's all the fault of a couple years of tax debt buildup + the ridiculous cost of my next visa application. If you'd like to help my PayPal is `paypal.nz@chiri.works`
I really hate to keep asking this kind of thing but we still desperately need help. If you can please consider supporting the writing website we've been working on: fluff4.me/fundraiser
Between taxes and my next visa application, we need about $8k USD more so I can stay in NZ with my polycule
You can send us money directly via Lumina's PayPal: paypal.nz@luminamystere.works
My deadline is somewhere around October-November. If we don't have the money by then I'll probably have to go back to the US
Also if anyone wants to hire me for programming work, get in touch, my email is chiri@chiri.works. I can do whatever you need and I have an extreme work ethic.
Note that I can't do contract work โ whatever I'd be paid would be double taxed โ so for any work I'll need to actually be an employee
:3 I am absolutely drained after months of nonstop workies, but I think in the end it will be worth it
the most work i've put into anything in my life, getting this built. i am exhausted, but happy with everything we've done
A screenshot of the Github commit history grid, ranging from January to May. Many squares are coloured in green, indicating a lot of activity.
like look at this
i've done so much work on fluff,,,,,, most effort i've put into a project in my whole life
you ever tried blender's grease pencil? i'm looking at that or aseprite for getting into art for the first time bcuz it gives me 2d sculpting tools so it's more doable with a mouse
i physically can't use a tablet pen for very long bcuz hypermobility in fingers means pain so a mouse is the only way
im begging you my hands are falling apart trying to keep up
i am absolutely desperate for indie fps devs to stop putting ten billion different movement abilities in their games and just give us back proper quakelike bhopping and strafejumping
just ticked over to christmas which means five years of chiri,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, light of my life i luv u <3,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
