As dumb, incorrect, and annoying as coding agents sometimes are, nothing has gotten me this excited to start and then immediately abandon projects in a long time!

Tell me Claude is vibe-coded without telling me that Claude is vibe-coded... status.claude.com/incidents/pq...
Same! π Especially since there are so many crates that make this so, so easy...
Claude just randomly decided that we're now following strict TDD in this project. π€·ββοΈ
I think I know that place!
Mind you, Gmail has full access to my work calendar and should know that I'm not traveling. π
Gmail suggests a reply to an email saying that I'll be traveling next week to a conference, but have time to meet from Tuesday afternoon onwards. First of all, total lie. Second, how can I be free from Tuesday afternoon if I'm also traveling for a conference?? π€¦ββοΈ
GitHub Actions is waiting for jobs to start before it can cancel them and somehow I am not surprised...
We're hiring! The PSF is looking for a full-time, remote, US-based Infrastructure Engineer to help keep PyPI, python.org, docs.python.org, and PyCon US running for millions of Python users worldwide π Apply here:
There's a good 63% chance that I'm overengineering something right now. But oh my will it be beautiful...
The thing that surprised me most at @rustnationuk.bsky.social is how many people are working on #Rust + #AI that I just hadn't heard of. Makes me wonder what else is out there that I'm missing out on...
Back home from @rustnationuk.bsky.social. It was great to see old friends and make some new ones. Left with lots to think about and a few new ideas to explore. π
I'm gonna be at @rustnationuk.bsky.social this week. If you're using #Rust with #AI tools, I'd love to meet and hear about your experience!
setting on github to set commit message of a squashed PR to PR title + description
TIL this setting on GitHub. kinda mad about the years of git commits could have contained my beautiful PR descriptions
Totally forgot this existed!
Anyone going to #rustnationuk who's working with Rust through coding agents? Would love to chat about your experiences!
This was an interesting read and captures some of my own confusions about spec-driven development tools right now. martinfowler.com/articles/exp...
Apple really fucked up with the new office suite. Why do I have two Keynote apps installed now? And why is there an ad inside the new one? Enshittification through and through...
I'm convinced software quality will diverge massively in the future. That makes this such an exciting time to build developer tooling, because we can create tools that raise the bar instead of lower it.
"Coding agents have infinite discipline to follow conventions."
Some of the core ideas that made us want to build Aonyx are coming together.
After months of heads-down work, it feels great to finally share some of what we're building with Aonyx. First post on designing developer tools for coding agents is up! π₯³
Logitech is shoving so many different apps in my face, you'd think one of them could've told me that my mouse was running out of battery. π
I can't believe how much time I am still spending getting tests to work locally and in CI. Especially when they need external services or tools. This feels like a problem we should've solved long ago as an industry...
Best practices in #software are hard because they require extremely disciplined teams. #AI should basically solve this because it has unlimited discipline.
I've been thinking a lot about ubiquitous language and domain-driven design recently. Feels like such an obvious paradigm for working with coding agents, because it maps so well to natural language inputs. ddd-practitioners.com/home/glossar...
Yes, that's true. I think part of the problem is that organizational changes are very hard while it's very easy to just have Claude Code write more code. Pretty sure the actual opportunity is in better collaboration though, both human-human and human-AI. Focusing on velocity feels very shortsighted.
I'm so not sure why 21:56 feels like the right time to be productive. I could've gotten work done all day, why is my productivity peak in the middle of the night? π«
Shoutout to Magic Pages for their insanely fast response times to customer support requests. www.magicpages.co
What we're doing is an experiment that is certainly not for everyone. And who knows if it'll work, even for us...
We are not making software for airplanes, though. I wouldn't want an aircraft engineer to YOLO-mode their code, but I also wouldn't want every CSS change I make to require certification by the FAA. There's a right tool for every job.
