It's like... it's such a warm, friendly, sensible blue, and the flow is so good, and the shimmer is so bright
But also for reals where did my memo pad go I had a million sheets left in that thing

Yeah I mention this a lot in talks and stuff -- I am not interested in having an 'author voice.' I am very interested in a story having a voice that suits it, so if I can write that, then I'm happy.

I like writing certain of my stories with a more noticeable style (like AND WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU TONIGHT) because there are stories where I'm aiming for immersion and there are stories where I *want* the reader to be reminded they are reading

Yes! :D I love it (also: plot!! so much!!) and a number of years ago there was a video store going out of business near the university, and they had a ton of these plastic laminated (i.e. will never be able to remove) posters for like $5, so I picked up a bunch.
