All younglings of the Reul Na Maidne cluster dream of one day owning their very own astral sail and the curved blade that is the mark of a hunter. All hunters blades are forged from meteoric iron and the metals found in titan bone. #HumanArtist

i remember playing it when it came out and everyone was like "HOLY SHIT YOU CAN PARKOUR ON TREES NOW"
and it was peak for that
um actually it was a chitinous beetle abomination

i did this specifically because i wanted it to be a post process thing not a regular material thing so you dont have to fuck around with orders or parameters things to get it to work
I did a really dumb thing and added in faked contact shadows because i wanted nice contact shadows where objects might lay on top of or intersect with the ground or other objects....

Texturing is going along well, having a lot of fun with it, i havent really done a lot of rocks before like this so its a good test of my painting skills :D

here's a fancy little video, I added a little bump offset for when there's a metalic mask. so metal objects will kinda shimmer a little :3
It's pure kinetic energy that causes a k-kill. The more air resistance and therefore heat it has the less kinetic energy it will have through friction loss and it won't be as catastrophic

redid the entire shader and now its looking even better with more defined paintstrokes and not just blobs

it uses a texture i generate in substance designer, i can make it sharp or soft brush strokes, textured ect and any shape!
ok i think im done with this shader for today, tomorrow i need to actually do some more on actual projects not random stuff that pops into my head lmao

So I've added view distance based increments so the closer you are for smaller things you can still have things grid aligned.
