Children on bikes ride through a crosswalk next to a sign that reads "School crossing." Photo from Wilmette, IL, a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community. Visual tag is labeled #ActivePeople to note this message is in support of the Active People, Healthy Nation movement: the CDC's national initiative to help 27 million Americans become more physically active by 2027.
When communities have sidewalks, trails, and connected bike routes, it can be easier for people to be physically active every day. These community designs can help make physical activity part of daily life — from getting to school to running errands.

I’m opposed to any plan, especially one that ignores public input, to cut off safe biking routes for Virginians.
Forcing bikes to share walkway space with pedestrians or roads with cars is dangerous, and ripping up existing biking routes to do it is nonsensical.
