Both seem to take a few days before they are visible in my bank. AppleCard is pretty quick. In the UK even old banks are instant.

Whenever I have a large meal with no veggies, a couple hours later I find myself grazing at the fruit bowl.

It’s amusing that we think of ourselves as more than just mech suits for our gut bacteria.

We are puppets.

We got a bit of sunshine this morning so I spent it sitting by the window playing guitar. Not a bad start to the weekend.

Above a number of grey London office buildings with white lighted windows, The Shard stands against the black night sky. Looming like a tapered spike, the tower is illuminated blood red. Spotlights and lasers shine outward from its base over the crowd, and a single green laser points upwards from its peak. In the foreground one member of the crowd has greeted the sinister spectacle with an upheld sign reading "All Hail Sauron".

Let us never forget this sign from The Shard's opening ceremony.

Outer Wilds is fantastic. It’s a game where you explore a tiny charming solar system while stuck in a time loop. You have to figure out why. It’s a game you can only play once and I wish I could forget it so I could play it again!

I decided to treat myself to a new guitar. It’s probably the nicest guitar I’ve ever owned!

I think it’s that and a bunch of other things. Like most payments aren’t finalised for a few days to deal with tips and stuff. The last transaction in my account was from Wednesday, since then I’ve paid rent and a bunch of bills. It’s very frustrating!

Banking in the US is so slow. It can take days for payments to show up in your account!

AI Won't Fix the Fundamental Flaw of Programming
AI Won't Fix the Fundamental Flaw of Programming YouTube video by Philomatics

This is a great video on how AI and programming meet. It matches closely on how I feel software development will be changed by AI. Just as a spoiler, it’s a lot, but not in ways that matter that much.

This looks interesting! Have you done any gaming on it?

I need #monitor #recommendations! I want something that I can use with my MacBook during the day for work, preferably with a single usb cable that also will do a decent job of pc gaming.

It’s a terminal multiplexer similar to tmux. I just like the UI better and the customisation is easier.

I might write about what my dev tool are soon. I’m one of those people that says β€œI use neovim btw” now.

This weekend I replaced the brakes and discs on my car. A little out my wheelhouse, but it’s not a complicated job. Or it shouldn’t have been. Who ever last put the wheel on absolutely mangled the studs, so I had to change a bunch of those. That was very much out of my wheelhouse, but I got it done!
