I'm at #MasteringSAP in Sydney, can we get a drinking game going where we get to drink each time there is an explanation of "what is an AI agent"? Although not sure I will make it to this evening...
I'm at #MasteringSAP in Sydney, can we get a drinking game going where we get to drink each time there is an explanation of "what is an AI agent"? Although not sure I will make it to this evening...
Cost of living (if living includes such discretionary(??) items as fresh roasted coffee bean) increases have actually been a tiny win, coffee now costs so much that my 1kg bag every 4 weeks now qualifies for free shipping... #firstWorldProblems
And no doubt the icons for all will be jewels ๐๐๐
But they have to be dreaming of they think anyone will trust SAP tooling that recommends implementing SAP product. Even if it makes it easier.
It is interesting how SAP at SAPPHIRE is pushing global uncertainty as a reason to buy and implement SAP as an integrated suite. Would be interesting to break that down because I wonder if it will drive their product investment.
I feel ya! The 99+ unread email flag is a permanent fixture on my inbox... And I'm currently sitting at about double your number ๐คช
Would be great to see some SAP sourced discussion... Because that's missing everywhere except in person.
I do love that the CEO of SAP wearing a "bomber jacket" on the SAP Sapphire main keynote. Do you think I can final stop with the suit wearing for work? lesdeux.com/products/com... looks like a nice jacket either way.
Bets on this being the last year we hear the WalkMe name and next year it's just "Joule".
How many... Was it a 4 digit number? This would be only way to inbox zero for me.
Very much so... And don't you think that Joule is going to want to leverage that?
Besides how long has SAP ever had a product acquisition without doing a rebrand?
WalkMe tech already extracted from previous browser plug in tooling and directly implanted into SAP Cloud Apps. So it's more the "let me show you how to do that" tool in the cloud app than "WalkMe". There is an obvious clash between Joule and that.
Joule "everywhere" edition (the product formerly known as WalkMe)
If WalkMe isn't rebranded into Joule and repackaged as the front end for all Joule interactions in next year, I will be surprised. You can't have both, it doesn't make sense.
So SAP enabling Joule via WalkMe. Gotta say... "Called it!" And to all those SAP people who I spoke to in last few weeks who refused to confirm/deny, well done on not spilling the beans.
The customer stories, as always, more inspiring. The concept of the "suite" sharing info to enable better AI very much a hand waving exercise it seems to me so far.
Some savagely articulated truths, if you're in SAP tech space, a must read.
You should be able to have multiple source systems populating the BTP sub accounts, the email only need be unique per source. Same email for different IdPs seems to work.
Loving that I had a client meeting today and @hardingmatt.bsky.social is on the client side and we basically agreed to continue the conversation about some #SAP #SuccessFactors so the whole world could share in his frustration with me ๐
And since employees are using Entra to log on, no need to have unique emails to allow password reset using email address...
But also using external learners, that do.... Bit of a bugger!
Will need to check if there is a workaround to that situation
Idea is that user has full on different Entra user id for privileged access and uses this to log into SAPSF/IAS to do admin like tasks. Which makes sense as can use additional logging/MFA/risk based access config/etc to control these users access. But they still have the same email address...
I think this is correct, but it might be a roadmap item to allow different uniqueness configuration for sub populations within IAS.
Probably worth clarifying what @hardingmatt.bsky.social means here by platform and application users as this is interesting use case.
Basically, yes, the standard way to populate users into the IAS attached to SAP SuccessFactors is to replicate them using the standard IPS replication from SAPSF to IAS, SAPSF tools like the embedded SAC, expect certain attributes to be populated in SAML asserts that Entra doesn't know about.
I can totally associate with Anjali's description of feeling like leaning into a shouting match where nothing you do matters, but also know that it is possible to bring change, we have to use #activeHope even in face of seeming inaction of the gov www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Last minute Christmas gift idea... A frying pan that works on my in-laws wonderful induction hotplate. Will make cooking these blinis an awful lot easier! Happy Christmas everyone!
You can imagine how the meeting where they chose the go-live date for this change went... Oh dear, complete lack of customer focus. www.news.com.au/finance/busi...
I think if you're spending the effort to make some content, then selling it to the crowd you're distributing it on makes sense. I didn't even bother posting my last blog post on X....
A little light reading for those of you who enjoy developers getting frustrated and eventually figuring things out - and If you play with #SAP #SuccessFactors it might even be useful! www.wombling.com/hr/linking-t... Just posted to my blog
