that doesn't seem the least bit conspiratorial. Governments issue police budgets after all.

A good-news story in the province’s fourth city, nice! What’s going on in the capital?

Oh… really, really bad you say?

Nah, run the feel-good. We need something nice to follow disabled support cuts and health care cuts.

If lower, death rates in Lethbridge would be due to policy, they are not, why are rates at a record breaking high in Edmonton?
Same province, same policies.

Rising or falling rates are mostly driven by the toxicity of the drugs.

good governance requires honesty: acknowledging responsibility. accountability requires addressing systemic gaps, failures and harms.

not taking a fake-ass apology from a conveniently detestable villain

not DOWNLOADING responsibility to the PRIVATE SECTOR

apologies?

This feels like the prominent canadian professor telling people to “Chill” in reference to the justified freakout over our prime minister’s obfuscation of US-Israeli war crimes and stated intent to allow canadian military deployment to “defend our allies.”

So when we see people like Rachel Gilmore stalked by people emboldened to wear Nazi symbols in public, understand where the Nazis’ sense of safety comes from:

Gutless governments who refuse to do a bare minimum to make it unsafe to be a fascist in public.

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States.

This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Ghost town, brainless, dirt Orchestra, Friday sixth of March at Gus’ pub. An illustration of a ghost wearing some sort of onesie carrying a sack full of stolen goods including a crown and a bible over its right shoulder, while stepping daintily and looking somewhat smugly toward the viewer. The ghost and sack white as are the lettering, and the background is all black.

This should be a huge fucking wake-up call to every level of government playing footsie with fascists and their pals in ‘law enforcement.’
These people are by far the biggest threat to public safety - not protesters, not encampment dwellers, not people using drugs. Fascists.

The fact that the Mayor and Cllr Zhou have not been forced by their party to resign at this point is an affront to the people of Vancouver, a slap in the face of drug users and low income folks and is forever a black mark on ABC. They should never get a seat again.

Moving a public health crisis elsewhere isn't solving it. And neither is doing nothing about the most immediate root cause (unregulated drugs) while waiting for the next wave to hit.

This is Bush's "mission accomplished" but the Alberta govt does it about every 3 months.

Graph showing fatalities in Edmonton from 2017 to 2025. Graph shows that deaths hit a peak of around 650 or more deaths from 2021 onward without abatement. 2025 is on track to hit a new record once all data are complete and updated.

...and mirrors to advance its war-on-drugs agenda. This benefits private friends of government, property developers, and police. Stop feeding them all public money by acting as stenographers.

Better headline: Edmonton on track for record year for drug poisoning fatalities.

How do you make Nazis feel unsafe in public?

By making them feel this tall:

That means things like showing up in force to counter-protests against immigrant deportation.

Why do police protect Nazis?

Because they harbour Nazis. Police themselves will tell you they fear those types in their ranks. It creates a sort of omerta, a generalized silencing against speaking out.

Doesn’t take long to find them.
