But I was more interested in all the calendar functionality built into a native db rather than as a separate screen.

Calendar not being integrated into core Notion dbs was such a blunder. And I still think not offering Apple Cal + private email integration was the wrong decision. That’s when I lost faith for sure.
tbh I don't use Mail or Calendar and think the "apps" direction was a bit of a gaffe, especially considering how different the interfaces and xps feel. Core Notion is stronger w/o 'em. Mail and calendars should've been (could still be!) synced views as demoed in 2022.
I think it’s our marketing background that causes this. Because marketing itself is so industry-agnostic, yet you have to gain some understanding of the industry you’re in to do it well, we become easily adaptable.
Even if AI is "good" (works), I deeply respect the continued work in discernment folks are doing. There's time for it; don't be rushed by Progress. Many think skeptics will regret their skepticism and be "left behind". I think it's okay to be left behind in discovering ethical alignment. No regrets.
