Yeah this one was not pressed at 45 for some reason...the 2nd disc is nearly exactly the same. Weird one!

A vinyl record with more deadwax than grooves - Side A of You're Dead! by Flying Lotus, 2LP edition
I think we can all agree that this one takes it a bit too far though π
Similar story for me with Comicopera.
(Rock Bottom is still *the one* though!)
Have been listening to Shleep.
Recently heard This Heat for the first time properly (really great, who knew) and they a song that sounded enough like Robert Wyatt to release some proper endorphins
Trying to acquire some knowledge here - and clearly not at @jazzsnob99.bsky.social's level yet!
My thought was around how the tracking angle changes as the stylus moves from the outside inwards and that the innermost grooves are often the ones most susceptible to distortion, which this would avoid!
Shit yeah
Still my fave Sun Ra
π
CD box set: Bedhead 1992-1998 (Numero Group). Bedhead were a Dallas, Texas slowcore band that made understated, warm, intricate guitar music which is still meaningful to some people
Something I've believed since my early teens and which I still believe now is that guitar music can improve your life
Woof!
Hadn't been aware of this (shame on me!) - hugely exciting!
Ah, nice one, thank you - will do
How did you find out about this please?
π
Well-loved LP cover: Blossom Dearie - Sings (Daffodil Records, US - 1973)
Immaculate vibes here - give it a listen if you'd like to escape or even just feel a little better for a while
Brittany Howard, I believe
"He's Sweating Now"
π
Yeah I was really excited when I watched this for the first time the other year
It happens!
There's always tomorrow
love the artwork!
I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is
Pretty huge insult to Burnley tbf.
Have to respect FPL for playing the long game with this one
hahaha
Cool, thanks!
How did you find out about it?
Very cool!
Where/when were they selling that?
Imagine we lived in a world where healthcare advances weren't determined by a profit motive...
They don't have to be, but in the world we've made they are.
It's cool how that can happen!
In other news, I've been aware of this album and interested in hearing it for several years, but have yet to listen to it yet...
And the similarities don't just end there!
Possibly
agreed!
