"It remains the Department's policy that there is a human in the loop on all decisions on whether to employ nuclear weapons," a senior defense official said. "There is no policy under consideration to put this decision in the hands of AI." But that still leaves room for AI to influence decisions on targets and speed of response. In a recent nuclear war game at King's College London, many leading language models including versions of ChatGPT, Claude and Google's Gemini all quickly favored launching warheads. That could influence a human's decision to fire, said Paul Dean, vice president of the global nuclear program at the nonprofit Nuclear Threat Initiative. "It's not simply ensuring that there's a human being in the decision-making loop," Dean said. "The question is, to what extent will Al impact that human decision-making?"
Yes. This. Correct.
Secretary Hegseth announced this afternoon that DOD will cease ALL graduate study by military personnel at universities including MIT, all the Ivies, Stanford, etc because such schools teach "the enemy's wicked ideology" to officers.

Take two seven year olds in a primary school in the Prime Ministerβs constituency.

Is the Governmentβs Ipoproposal that richer child gets permanent status at age 10 while in primary school & working class classmate not until they are 22?

Trump and Israel started bombing Iran while in the middle of negotiations
Trump is starving Cuba
Heβs threatening to annex Canada
He removed the leader of Venezuela
Heβs threatening Greenland
Heβs aiding a genocide in Gaza

You'd think Reform would be delighted that a white, working class plumber got elected and they beat the metropolitan elite university lecturer.
Can't believe the Labour strategy of going door to door since the election, punching their voters in the face and yelling 'What are you going to do, vote for someone else?' didn't work out.

INTRODUCING! Hannah Spencer The new Green MP for GORTON & DENTON Green Party Promoted by Chris Williams on behalf of The Green Party, both at PO Box 78066, London SE16 9GQ
Introducing Hannah Spencer MP π
βItβs high time Labour stopped courting right wing voters who are never going to back them, and focus on delivering for the progressive majority.
"The Greens have broken through not because the system helped them, but despite it working against them at every turn."
Will Labour learn a lesson from this?
Will the fact a progressive party won by quite a massive amount be the talking point?
Will this move political discourse and government policy to the left?
Will they all shut up about immigration and accept it's a made up issue?
Probably not.
In a battle between hope and hate, hope won out.
Why voters rejected the hateful politics of Reform and instead embraced the "Green Menace" in Gorton and Denton

Stories like this give me hope
A classroom scene with a teacher standing at the front of the room and pupils seated at desks in the foreground. Overlaid text reads: βREAL HOPE. REAL CHANGE.β and βWHY ARE EXPERIENCED TEACHERS LEAVING?β Beneath this is a quote asking what assessment the Government has made of the comparative loss of experienced upper pay range teachers in academy and local authority-controlled schools, and what assessment has been made of the extent and impact of settlement agreements and confidentiality clauses when such teachers leave employment. A small circular image of Natalie Bennett appears with the label βNatalie Bennett, Green Party Peer,β and the Green Party logo is displayed at the bottom.
When experienced teachers leave, pupils lose expertise, stability and leadership.
Ministers should publish their assessment of teacher losses across school types and the impact of settlement agreements and confidentiality clauses.

But the rot goes much deeper. It wasn't one adviser who decided to send Mandelson to the US to suck up to Trump.
It was the prime minister and the whole rotten logic of the government's Trump appeasement.
That must end.

I tried to watch the reform party political broadcast. But all I learned is that Nigel Farage doesn't know how to use a weather forecast and that he "likes the sea".
As unilluminating and as nauseating as the Melania filme
Reform Political Broadcast. What a load of claptrap. They criticise our NHS when we all know what Farage actually plans for the NHS. They criticise and criticise and tell us they are going to improve everything but there is no word about how they will do it. Nothing but hatred.
