The scene the people are observing is Art Linkletter preparing for the Disneyland Opening Day broadcast!

It seems hard to believe it wouldn't need repainting in the 41.5 years of Carnation Ice Cream Parlor's operation, but it does look very similar to 1955.

Here it is on the final operating day for the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor, January 3, 1997
Sorry, the file names just get more descriptive.

Color photograph from the 1950s showing the Tomorrowland Skyway Station at Disneyland. A Skyway bucket is visible in the foreground. The metal structures of the Skyway station and the ride's supporting cables can be seen. People are ascending stairs towards the station. Multicolored triangular flags decorate the area. The sky is clear and blue. (circa 1957)

@tomkmorris.bsky.social, has the salvage source for the Mad Tea Party lighting fixtures been identified, or is that still a future research item?
Early Disneyland could be hit-or-miss. Perhaps the best part of this photo is how it was taken overhead from the Skyway!
"you need to learn how to use gAI or you'll get left behind!"
counterpoint!
the absolute fastest way to render yourself unemployable is to build your skillset around a tool that does your thinking for you, that everyone has access to, and that one company can change or take away at any time
Seems like this goes against the Disney keys of Courtesy, Show, and Efficiency.

While I assign each Parkendium asset a unique ID, in the caption I also try to retain the original filename as it comes to me.

It's backlit, but you know what you're looking at.

Color slide taken by a Guest of the Horse-Drawn Streetcars at Disneyland, carrying the Park's one millionth Guest and family, and some of the Park atmosphere characters/talent.
Help! What's the name of the horse that drew the streetcar with Disneyland's one millionth Guest on September 8, 1955?!
My daughter wrote a book about Disneyland (I did not have editorial input).
βThis Disneyland is very very bad!β
βYou have to pay all of your money.β
Congratulations!

In 2013 I opened from the original envelope a sealed, signed letter from Queen Elizabeth to President Nixon.
A Parkendium specialty.
Those few years are pretty rough (uncommon for almost any photos, let alone a specific time-bound period and geographic area).
I wish my dad were still around to receive the accolades! But he would have some appreciation that his archivist son shared it with an audience who might value it.
0!
These are likely most of them. (I can send higher resolution of any that may be of interest.)
It's not that I have no photos of the Magic Kingdom, but it's so comparatively few and lesser tagged than Disneyland than I'm sure there's better stuff out there.
But the MATTERHORN! I have that tagged from eight faces...
So much of my time is spent looking at photographs that DO exist, but if you land on anything at the Disneyland Resort, I should be able to help you out with reference material!
Outdoor Siamese cat suffered a laceration overnight and is now on his way to a rescue. π
Thanks to bot creator @samplereality.bsky.social for tweaking the automatic captions to draw upon the millions of keywords I've individually applied to the assets on Parkendium. And they should now be referencing the date uncertainty from the keywords, rather than the strict "creation date" field!
Thereβs nothing wrong with film grain!
