Imagine for a minute
You're a creature that is in it
Just to clobber all the worst of all the kids
Get a club and make'em hobble
Just a little for their trouble
While all the love goes to the man in red

Like a trip on amanita
Of reindeer through aurora
Flying across the sky to bring the gifts
He's slippin' slyly down the chimneys
While you're kickin little Jimmies
He gets all the glory, better story
— you get sticks

That you crack across the legs
Of snarky little Pegs
Hack at knees of the Jacks and Steves that shun their chores
While he snacks on milk and cookies
You're out there smacking bullies
Whack a swatch across a shoulder, make'em sore!

His red suit and polished boots -
A fine filigree for fools!
You've got fur and cloven hooves and crooked horns
In lieu of his smiling visage
You strike a pose that's purely savage
A figure roundly ridiculed and scorned

His laugh a warm benevolence
Your duty, doling violence
He's the happy hallowed saint of holidays
But for some moral justice
You are just the consequence
The devil that collects what devils pay...

So to heck with jolly old Nick
You're the OG paygan prick!
We should get you into malls like all the Santas!
In this late day and age there's many deserve your rage
Get in line all snotty scoundrels
— time for Krampus!

Logs
A haibun by Dawn Mclachlan

From a high window I watch upturned clouds fill the valley and blur the silhouetted forest. The logs remain tumbled together in a giant bag in the yard. In a fit of hubris I dig out a pair of thick gloves and decide to move and stack them on my own. By the time I manage to haul everything in and fill the shed, the mist has arrived and stealthily smothers the town. It clings to me like sweat as I tug the day's splinters from my blistered hands. As streetlights signal the arrival of evening I shake beads of water from my hair like a dog and think of the supper I have yet to plan.

Shrouded in the mist
Fearful of Winter's sharp teeth
I stack logs alone

Screencap of dueling pumpkin art styles. One clearly loses.
Aesthetic: classy, vintage Hollywood horror.
Right side: primitive, 2D mistake.
Left side: Art Deco encapsulated, thoroughly refined.

Left details: a jewel-cut jack-o’-lantern, faceted like a geodesic crystal, grins with knife-edge menace. Neon purple skin with toxic-green and warm orange eddies cover every side, dramatic lighting rakes across them in stippled gradients. A faint vapor curls from the artifact's jagged mouth, it's exhaling your secret.
Vibe- Rave colors invite me to trespass in a glamorous crypt, I get an angular jolt that feels unsafe yet ceremonial and fascinating.

Right details: a circular-ish, vector pumpkin made of layered orange gradients that don’t quite line up. A perfectly even zig-zag mouth sits off-center; derpy triangle eyes point out to the sides, the face goofy-sad. Radial pin-lines flare from the crown like an Art Deco sunburst; the stem reminiscent of a green jelly-bean with two vertical rays through it, the straight, vertical lines contrasting the curves, the average of the two would make a perfect stem shape.
Vibe- It’s trying so hard to be spooky it loops back to tender, an awkward mistake whose off-center grin is endearingly bad.

If you squint and tilt your head, their mouths match and so does their Art Deco energy.

three frames, photos of a screen showing a scene in the video game Story of Seasons- Grand Bazaar for Switch 2. In the scene two cute anime girls are facing each other. The goth one, June, timidly asks "... So? Don't leave me hanging. How do you feel about me?" and the player's options are "I've fallen in love with you" or "You're a great friend." In the final frame the goth girl leans over, smiling and says "Let's see what this town has to offer, Badass. Together." Next to June's name is a half filled heart. Most of what follows will be character descriptions: in the first frame, you see the player character from behind. Her blond hair with pink ends is in a high ponytail with little cyan colored ribbons decoratively holding her bangs in place, the ribbons crossing to form an X. She wears a black, mens suit. June has a blue bob haircut with bangs that come down in the center. Her irises are red. She wears a gray and navy colored, elegant gothic lolita outfit, a frilly dress with a billow-y collar. You hope you'll never have to break her heart.

I know you all were on the edge of your seat to find out my new waifu in Story of Seasons. Sorry Sophie. Sorry Maple. My heart belongs to the town goth girl. None of the guys have given me the romance option yet lmao #AltTextPoetry

looking up at a building with a red railing and a tree in the foreground Alt: Transforming cubes and 3D rectangles undulating in and out of each other. Grey cubic chaos that feels like it’s drawing you in with irresistible, inevitable gravitational pull. You’re falling into its endlessness.

I think about Control from @remedygames.com a lot. How did they make a world that is both minimalist and maximalist at the same time???

Honestly writing #alttextpoetry is my favorite thing to do here:

My love as deep.

From a swirling blue mist, with swooshy, glowing, pink-red-yellow highlights, emerges a beautiful woman's face amongst a smattering of snowflakes and bright, colorful sparkly specks on a cool background. She's mostly transparent and all you see are the highlights on her face. She has ghost energy.

An AI generated image of Heather has pink, wild hair like an 80's rockstar and iridescent skin. She wears a holographic shirt. She eyes you suspiciously through her pink, crystal, cat-eye glasses.

An AI generated image of glowing, cyan, purple & pink mountains with beams of light shooting straight up into the sky, in the far distance. The beams of light are rainbow colored. They reflect their rainbow on the cool, wet beach at the base of the mountains. Everything is sparkling. You can't tell where the mountains stop and where the clouds begin.

Bombs have no qualms
Over right versus wrong
Nor hearts that swell
If a band plays well
The anthem
That also
Made them.

A big, red, shiny, plump, delicious looking, easy button that looks like candy. It tempts you so and it can solve all your problems.

A woman with glasses in an office, looking pensively out of frame, her hand resting on her face in utter distraction, she's on another planet. A planet we can never get to. In the foreground there is a round pen rack on a lazy suzan. The mish-mash of neon pens is in a rainbow somehow. On the right is the desktop computer she's sitting in front of. Behind her an old brick wall, calendar and self with cubed slots. Her outfit and updo is stylish but office-y.
Is she looking at her notebook on the side or is she looking at things others cannot see?

Here's my UX/UI design portfolio. It's an easy button that looks like candy and just a picture of me thinking really hard.

AI art of a luminous tardigrade that drifts through a surreal, prismatic realm, as if plucked from a biology textbook designed by Lisa Frank. Its electric hues—pink, yellow, and cyan—pulse with life against a magenta sky, where a shooting star streaks above. Callout lines trace to nonsense glyphs, geometric bursts, and cryptic figures, save for one proclaiming “lovE,” written with a backward 3 for the “E”. The tardigrade has a purple 5 o’clock shadow in a patchy giraffe pattern. The creature rests, perhaps on a pixelated shoreline of rainbow waves, neon-green eggs trailing behind in delicate geometry. A knee is marked with a callout pointing to an upside down triangle; an atomic burst is called out from its forehead—an enigmatic voyager of color and mystery, bridging science and dream. If your biology textbook had looked like this, you would’ve liked biology way more.

Everyone knows Lisa Frank school supplies but did you know that Lisa Frank also does biology textbooks?
Yeah, here's what the Water Bear (Tardigrade) diagram looks like.
