Reflecting on the horrific job cuts at the WaPo, I also miss alt weeklies. They were the city’s pulse on paper, like a cracked mirror that still told the truth. Long reads, weird ads, real voices. They made you feel seen, not sold to. A civic campfire we lost. 📰🔥
