Charlie sees a poster for The Nine Mothers choir. The nine choristers, apparently sisters, are almost identical in appearance and similar in age. Each wears a different colour dress. Their stage names are Gjalp, Greip, Eistla, Eyrgjafa, Ulfrun, Angejya, Atla and Jarnsaxa. And all nine of them are pregnant, all at different stages of pregnancy. Charlie, a lesbian trans woman, is envious of their beauty. Charlie meets Gjalp, who encourages her to audition as an understudy for the choir. Charlie is relunctant, but accepts, and also ends up dating Gjalp. Before Charlie’s bottom surgery date, the two sleep together. As part of her surgery, Charlie gets a uterus transplant, donated by her mom. Gjalp later breaks up with Charlie, telling her she’s discovered she’s aroace. As each of the choristers is gone for a month in turn, Charlie will fill in, eventually discovering that after having slept with their newest understudy, she’s now pregnant. And she will come to discover that this whole time, she has been barking at her own reflection.

At Her Own Reflection is a time travel story inspired by Robert Heinlein's '—All You Zombies—'. Adult. There will be sex, mostly fade to black, but it will be talked about plainly.
