My first bird guide ever. It was bought in London in late 1980s and used in Belgrade in early 1990s, almost exclusively from a kayak, with wet fingers, hence the wavy pages. Pity they don’t seem to print this lovely little book any more.

Presumably this was meant as a comment on the new Euro ID guide. And I agree! Really excellent. I do like the (retro) hairline pointers. But it isn’t without fault e.g. the ID of alpestris Ring Ouzel - those undertail streaks aren’t a nailed on ID feature #BirdIDGuide
