I totally understand it's hard to keep an app running and figure out how to make its development sustainable, and I'm not against subscriptions (in fact I thought multiple times about subscribing to amie). It's absolutely ok that you're moving Amie to subscription only. However, I think such a change needs to be communicated properly and with the proper transition period. It's unacceptable to me that not only I can't find any public announcement on your website, social media profiles or in an email about this change, but that the app is simply suddenly *unaccessible*, not even as a read only app. Imagine if I was at work and quickly needed to use Amie for any number of things but I found this screen? A calendar is such a fundamental app for productivity, I'm sure you know it, and I can't have it be unaccessible to me suddenly without any previous communication. Can I trust you to provide a reliable service in the future if I decide to subscribe? What if in the future you have some maintenance to do on some amie feature? Can I trust you to notify me beforehand properly? wishing you the best guys, the mobile app is quite nice to use and it has been my main productivity tool lately, but I'm not sure I wanna subscribe given the circumstances"

I wrote a lengthy feedback to them explaining this, and I genuinely hope this works out well for the app, which I like. But as of right now, I'm not sure I can trust the company. Can I trust them to notify me if they have a planned maintenance? Hm...
