Hm. This does add nuance. In the NYT version of this they ask why #coldplaygate took off. It's bc they were a dramatic embodiment of guilt! Nobody likes a cheater and they were a silent movie of CHEATERS THINK THEY'RE BEING SLY AND WERE CAUGHT. That's gonna resonate. But yeah, the internet sucks.
