This "Glorified Nine Patch in Solids" was made by Lora Zmak. Lora said that she liked working in solids because it shows off the quilting. I think solids also spotlight the pattern.
The image is a close-up view of the interior deep into a hollow log that is fully engulfed in flame. At the forefront is a protrusion in the lower half of the view. Its shape and mixed coloring is the appearance of the neck and head of a bird facing to the right of the view. The smooth head, placement of a round black eye, the shape of a beak or bill includes outlines and shading accentuating the upper and lower halves of the beak. A dark comb runs at the back of the neck. Though less defined, a wing edge appears to be folded. The illusion seems comfortably nested in the flames. The background is a hellish blur of smoke, charred wood, ash, and orange and yellow flame of a wooden brimstone landscape. ###

Norine Dolyniuk created "The Pineapple Of My Eye" out of Kaffe fabrics. Norine was gifted a pineapple quilt tool for cutting the pieces in this quilt, which she says trims them nicely. She claims that there are imperfections, but don't ask me where!

This is where I started, just the woman with the pink, cowboy hat, and there’s a drawing of a bicycle which I didn’t do anything with in the future versions
Same as the other two except the bear has not been painted yet
This one only has the woman in the pink, cowboy hat with the yellow dove floating on one side, and the bicycle is doing something, but I wasn’t sure what to do with it in the future paintings it is covered up.

Cheryl Lagorio used the Moonshine pattern from Missouri Star to create this modern quilt. Cheryl leans toward making modern, bold quilts, plus she has mastered sewing curved pieces. Thus the Moonshine pattern embodies everything she loves.
Wire frame lantern sculptures of flamingos, this one more than 8 feet tall, surround the flamingo pond. Most are strutting and the shoes definitely make the girl. The background is the pitch black of nighttime in the forest. A spiral wrap of pink LED lights adorns the tree trunk just behind and left of the sculpture. The bird wears a large pink sun hat, matching sunglasses, and (of course) matching feathers. Pink stiletto shoes are tied at each ankle with pink laces that, unlit, appear black in the photo. The annual festival of lights covers acres of zoo property with large wire and cloth sculptures painted in bright colors and illuminated inside and out by various colors of LED lighting. This is Lora Zmac's "Glorified Nine Patch in Spolids" quilt. Lora loves how the solid colors accentuate the pattern and it allows you to really notice the quilting. She used a high loft batting to help the stitching stand out.

He chose the orange and lime colored fabrics. And like any good quilter, Susan picked up the rest as she traveled to 7 states. The pattern is called Between Gatherings.

This is "Scrappy Flowering Snowball" by Lora Zmac. This quilt is definitely a stash buster! Lora said she selected her backing, and then trimmed enough off for a border. Next she rummaged through her scrap bin for coordinating fabrics, and Flowering Snowballs were born.

Yup, this is a very colorful bargellow quilt that Lora Zmac named "Rainbow Bargellow."
The essence of this quilt was inspired by a rainbow filled sky that remains in Lora's memory. For her, the rainbows filled the sky on a rainy day when her Father-in-law passed to a better place.
