Here the bank failed to think about life events that happen and created a stupid relationship constraint that required a (probably less secure/controlled) manual process. Which has added cost to their operations. For ZERO benefit (actually, a net negative).
#DataModelling is not a “nice to have”.
This case highlights the fundamental importance of #DataModelling and design of data systems to #DataProtection compliance, something I’ve been banging on about since the late 1990s early 2000s.
The root cause was the stupid assumptions in the data model. The solution is critical thinking.
