Research Presentation Spotlight. Designing Learning Spaces for Neurodiversity and Disability. Dr Nicole Merrick.
Young people with disability can face barriers in taking part fully in learning and school life. This project aims to understand how the spaces at school can influence student participation.
Making school buildings more accessible can help all students participate and enjoy school to the fullest.
This study allowed students with disability put forward their thoughts about learning spaces in photo form, and told us how school design impacted their life at school.
This week, we'd like to draw attention to a presentation given by Nicole and Christine in November at the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning's 2025 Symposium.
