Digimon Adventure tri. - Future (Rewatch): Completed. I finished this on Monday and that completes my tri rewatch. The final movie was half decent and half mediocre. The first half of it was mostly dragging things out for the final fight until Gatomon got freed. Ordinemon is just a powerfully weird monster. The most memorable part is Omnimon Mercuful Mode showing up to take down Ordinemon. I actually agreed with Tai taking down Meicoomon. She had to go for the worlds to be saved. I’m miffed Dark Gennai gets away and there’s no pay off with him. No defeat. Just him leaving and claiming Demon and Diaboromon showing up. We won’t get anything out of that. Just overall a disappointing outcome. The second half is mostly fine. Just the crew planning out their futures. So, Tai and Meiko are in a long distance relationship. It looks like it. Eh ok I guess. That Butterfly theme to end the film was a good touch I admit. In the end, Tri remains a narrative mess and I’m not likely to revisit the whole thing again. See it if you haven’t if you want to watch the Adventure kiddos as teens. Otherwise, I say just read summaries and watch The Last Evolution. If I recall that movie hardly mentions much from tri. Tri tried hard to be something worthwhile but turned out disappointing for the most part. Next up, The Last Evolution!

Digimon Adventure tri. - Coexistence (Rewatch): Completed. Ugh, another meh tri film. This series does try my patience. This is the second worst part in the whole thing. The good part is the brief fighting with Omnimon, Alphamon, Jesmon, and Meicoomon. Seeing Royal Knights duking it out is cool to see. Give me more of that! And I guess the other good thing is almost finishing this series. If I recall, the final film isn’t too bad and a step up from movies 3-5. Time to see if that’s true.

Digimon Adventure tri. - Loss (Rewatch): Completed. Yep I knew the story would go nowhere and the whole reboot concept was pointless. The Digimon weren’t going to forget their partners. Mei and Meicoomon don’t add much value to this. Maki’s story goes nowhere and she’s just left in the Dark Ocean. The digivolutions are ugly as sin and Dark Gennai being a thing is half baked. So far, this is the worst part of the tri series. The only positive I can give this is the Digimon and Digidestined reconnecting. One more thing: I dislike how the four Harmonious Beasts were just partner Digimon for the original Digidestined and only became gods because Homeostasis get involved and possessed Maki to help them digivolved. I’m not a fan of that. Two more movies left to watch and I’ll put this train wreck behind me.

Digimon Adventure tri. - Confession (Rewatch): Completed. The drama in this continues to be meh. As if Tai wasn’t hesitant, now TK couldnt tell his friends that his buddy Patamon was infected. I also remember that Homeostasis taking Kari over to dump all that exposition. Yeah, the reboot thing did happen. I also remember that part. The best parts about this are the Digi-Destined bonding with their Digimon and Tentomon mega digivolving into HerculesKabuterimon. That’s about it. Now the gang is back in the Digital World and that lil fucker Meikuumon is there with them still infected. And the Digimon don’t remember their partners. Yeah this is where the big decline for me happens. I’m sooo looking forward to the next parts. /s

Digimon Adventure tri. - Determination (Rewatch): Completed. The follow-up to Reunion and honestly not as bad as I remember it. I’m not a fan of these human character designs. They lack personality and it bothers me. Beyond the dumb Leomon dying (again), the Digimon Emperor lookalike appearing, and the dumb drama, the hot springs scenes were fun, the Digimon scenes were cute, and I did like Rosemon and Vikemon fighting that fake Imperialdramon. I think after this is where tri goes downhill for me.

Digimon Adventure tri. - Reunion (Rewatch): Completed. I’m revisiting this series this again after a long time. I’m very mixed on the whole tri project. More bad outweighed the good but this Reunion movie I mostly enjoyed and say is the best of the bunch. The returning voice actors from the original English dub, Tai reuniting with Agumon, the Digidestined reuniting & hanging out, and Omnimon appearing again. Those were highlights I enjoyed. The drama scenes are still mostly a mixed bag. I kinda dread how I’m going to feel about the next movies after this because I know it’ll go downhill from here. Welp, down the tri well again. 😀

Digimon Adventure tri. - The Adventure on August 1st: Completed. This is my time viewing of this stage play. Overall a decent and fun event. I didn’t expect Etemon to return for his revenge and coming back to digivolved into KingEtemon! I liked this much better than the actual tri anime films. I like this had an original story unlike the Sailor Moon: The Super Live event and was not just a retelling of an overplayed arc. I loved the Digimon puppet props, the actors played their parts well, and the Digidestined’s personalities here are better than their tri anime counterparts. Although Taichi still showed his hesitance just like in the anime that kind of annoyed me.
