I don’t know that we’ll get one for FY 2025.
Also, Trump’s (unqualified) NNSA sycophant has not been in the news so far as I’ve seen & with *waves arms* & #DissertationWriting I’ve not been keeping tabs.

Now I’m curious for the details of counter-uncrewed aerial systems deployed at NNSA/nuclear weapons labs & sites ie Los Alamos.
I’ve not been keeping track of as much what with the #DissertationWriting & it is vexing.
There is an essay to be written about USA war heritage & national identification…
…and the various forms of social work done at various times by deploying (usually one at a time) the resonant slogans “Remember the Alamo” & “Remember Pearl Harbor”.
After #DissertationWriting is done maybe

It’s not just historians & I have been harsh about historians lately and it’s because I’m having to read a bunch of historians for #DissertationWriting.
This is an extremely niche post.
I blame #DissertationWriting.

Met w/advisor.
Called my chapter “very nice” & we are holding it as semi-final draft & moving on to next chapter.
So. Yay. It’s actually a relatively large thing & I just…
I’m not doing well & we’re working on it in therapy & I am struggling to find joy.

We made our 500 words for #DissertationWriting today & you can probably guess part of what we were writing about.

I meet with my advisor on Wednesday. I am making progress.
And I am working on a post about the constructedness of our stories about WWII & nuclear weapons.
The #DissertationWriting has made this painfully clear in a way that shorter writing projects haven’t.
DTOTW: The Anatomy of a Milestone
A milestone isn’t just “finishing the whole thing.” It’s the completion of a specific, high-effort phase. It helps to reduce burnout because you’re waiting for major milestones to celebrate yourself. #phdlife #dissertationwriting #dissertationhelp
I have made my 500 words today for #DissertationWriting & I would like to scour entire cities from the earth.
The latter is exacerbated by the process & progress of the former.
Nonetheless, I have a meeting with my advisor on Wednesday & will have a substantial amount of work shared.

I tell doctoral students all the time that “Being done is better than being perfect.” Show me a perfect dissertation and I’ll show you a dissertation that hasn’t been written. #phdlife #dissertationhelp #dissertationwriting #dissertationcoach
Propublica hosted & created material is cited *repeatedly* in my #DissertationWriting
Outstanding public journalism & info tools (Nonprofit Explorer).
Management at @propublica.org needs to provide pay, benefits, policies, etc the @propublicaguild.org needs to keep being awesome!
I made my 500+ word count for #DissertationWriting.
Getting Xeno Paradox (it feels) real close to a semi-final draft of this chapter plus parts that will be cut & placed elsewhere.
Irrespective: I am done w/writing about atomic bombing historiography thank fuck.
ICYMI, as I re-read the historiography of the atomic bombings & WWII for #DissertationWriting
… @wellerstein.bsky.social’s “The Most Awful Responsibility” is an excellent book and I strongly recommend it (in part as a correction to our nationalist nuclear mythmaking).
I cite it several times.
I have made more than my 500 words for #DissertationWriting today.
I have a meeting with my advisor on Wednesday.
I am not as far along as desired and we are making progress.

I made my 500 words for day for #DissertationWriting (again as for several past days as I resume a more normal work schedule as the COVID clears & mental health starts to stabilize).
The “shock” explanation Stimson gives is basically “these are magic bombs” in different words.

I think it is going to be a blog post about official narrative creation and dissemination in the USA about nuclear weapons (and WWII).
As I have in a footnote, my #DissertationWriting demonstrates an ongoing, 56 year effort to condition beliefs & knowledge through Nuclear Museum.
I swear to fucking hell, I am so fucking tired of reading and writing about the history and historiography of Japanese surrender in World War II (in particular, the drivers and effects of the USA attacks on Hiroshima & Nagasaki & creation of official narratives).

Or so says part of my #DissertationWriting.
It’s super annoying when the source is some uncommon declassified document that I read 3 years ago and only vaguely remember.
In my #DissertationWriting my advisor & I have already had skirmishes about my use of “USA” as opposed to “America” or “Americans.”
The awkward & alienating phrasing is part of my point in a dissertation about (nuclear weapons &) USA power identify & belonging.
His quotation about the Enola gay exhibit and people tired of elites telling them they should be ashamed of america at the NGA (IIRC) is a block quote in my current draft of #DissertationWriting.

I can’t tell you how many hours I have spent working to reconstruct past versions of the Nuclear Museum exhibits & labels for #DissertationWriting.
My #DissertationWriting is a narrowly partial response to “how do people come to know/believe/forget what they know/think/believe/act about nuclear weapons.”
I have a brand. :)
And yes the taste of nuclear weapon RVs etc will get discussion in #DissertationWriting (phenolic resins are the worst & linger).
We built them.
We can take them apart.
