Do Kwon Falls Hard — Terraform Labs Chief Gets 15 Years For Wire Fraud Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, received a 15-year prison sentence in a Manhattan federal court for his role in the TerraUSD and Luna cryptocurrency collapse. The judge described the scheme as a massive fraud that caused significant investor losses, leading to financial ruin for many. Kwon pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud and wire fraud and agreed to forfeit approximately $19 million. The crash, which occurred in May 2022, erased around $40 billion in market value. Before the criminal case, Kwon and Terraform faced a civil action from the US Securities and Exchange Commission, resulting in over $4.5 billion in penalties and an $80 million fine for Kwon.
