We’ve seen a few games of Dropfleet Commander played in Hemel on a Monday and some of the painting is fantastic. I felt I needed to post them up and get a little love for these minis. #dropfleetcommander #miniatures #Dropfleet #wargaming #koroswargames #TTcombat #Dropfleet #Dropzone

The UCM side of the starter set is complete, I prefer the scheme I did for the bigger ships so I might go back and redo the smaller ones eventually, but for now, that's the full box complete #DropFleetCommander #miniatures

The Bioficer side of the starter box for #DropFleetCommander is fully completed, got some nicer bases on order so they aren't fully attached to the bases #miniatures

Amused this evening by the massively varying scales I paint at. Age of Sigmar/Blood Bowl? 1:56. Warmaster? 1:180. Dropfleet Commander? 1:9150.

About to hop back into this project. The miniatures from #dropfleetcommander are amazing, and PHR fits the #Avali color scheme so well!

I’ve collected some thoughts on why I like the Dropfleet Commander so much: pako.games/blog/dropfle... — also, started my gaming blog 🙌🏻 it’s very simple right now but I plan to add some nifty features soon. #dropfleetcommander #tabletop

I can’t believe one of my todo items today was “upgrade the game tokens” but that’s what I did: took pretty lousy cardstock tokens for #DropfleetCommander and glued them to 2mm custom 3d printed bases. For that extra premium feel. Now we’re playing 😆 #Tabletop #Gaming #Crafts

Having a massive #Warhammer collection is find other systems like #DropfleetCommander or #DropzoneCommander refreshing and interesting. A hobby palate cleanser of sorts 😇

I’m building today my little UCM starter army, those little tanks are too cute!

A photo of a spaceship miniature from the game Dropfleet Commander. Overall the model is about 10cm long. The ship is rotund and grey and a little dumpy looking, with a long flat-top runway down two thirds of the hull length, and the bridge and citadel rising up behind the main hangar elevator. She is painted as a traditional Cold War era naval vessel, despite being a space craft! Her lower hull is red, with a horizontal black stripe and the pennant number 14 emblazoned on the side. The upper hull and citadel is light grey. The flight deck features five small space fighters, in Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm dark blue livery. The ship is worn and grimy and covered in soot and stains from long service.

This photo is taken from off the starboard bow, and you can clearly see her navigation lights as well as the 'ball' lighting array for carrier landings.

This photo is taken from high on the starboard side, giving a clear view of the overall superstructure as well as the various markings on the flight deck. Navigation and running lights are visible, as well as the hazard-striped CWIS turrets. Near the engine thrusters there are also yellow hazard markings to warn launch assets, and spacemen, when they might be getting close to danger. The ship's radar domes are a bright gold in contrast to the oily sooty grey of the hull. Green starboard lights are also clearly visible on the citadel and hull.

This photo is taken from close on the port rear, giving a clear view of the citadel, engines, and the large smokestack-esque radiator directly behind the citadel. While this looks very much like the chimney on an oil or coal-fired ship, given that this is supposed to be an advanced spacecraft this is more likely some sort of magnetic radiator using cobalt dust or droplets which can be recovered after venting.

The main engine array has a large 'DANGER' hazard warning painted on it, to ward off any light craft who manoeuvre too close to danger.

This angle also shows off some more of the markings on the flight deck, including the main launch catapult.

This photo is taken from close on bow, from above, as though taken from a just-launched, or just-landing member of the air wing. The full array of the landing light system is more visible, as is the air wing assembled on the flight deck. The fighters and bombers are dark blue, with FAA rondels on the wings, and golden cockpit canopies reminiscent of the gold-coated astronaut's helmet visors. This image also shows how tall the citadel is, rising up from the main hull in an extremely vibes-based and impractical approach to spaceship design.

There was a #miniatures painting contest over on the #DropfleetCommander FB group. I don't normally go in for a 'ships in space' Yamato vibe but it seemed like a nice opportunity to paint something different. If you're going to have a flat-top in space why not go the whole hog? Here's the Ark Royal!
