Recommendation : by Welch and Black (2010)
''Screening programs must be evaluated for their ability to reduce mortality, not just increase diagnosis rates''.

Detection of biologically insignificant cancers can lead to unnecessary treatments. 3/3

According to Welch and Black (2010) , screening doesn't always reduce mortality. Emphasis: while screening increases the detection of early-stage cancers, it does not always translate to fewer late-stage cancers or reduced mortality. 1/3
