I came to realize despite offering flat color commissions... I don't really have much of a flat color portfolio... So I decided if I am to offer them, why not have fun and make the look as good as possible? For this one I wanted to play with the idea of an anthro Rainbow Dash in her Wonderbolts uniform posing all cool at the top of the clouds with a rainbow behind her. The fun bit is that I made each cloud in a different tone to highlight distance and depth, and ofc, the rainbow itself going through some of the clouds to add even more layers! I used to not like making flat color cuz I thought it wouldn't looko good enough, now that I know I can play around with colors and layers? I want to make more! So expect to see more experimental flat color art in the future! I'll make it 20% cooler :v

As I re-kindle my enjoyment for making MLP art, I'm also exploring some fun stuff with coloring and effects!

Plus, I'm making more canon characters! It's Rainbow time!

One thing you'll know about my years of making art is that I mostly focus on drawing OCs, why? I really can't remember much anymore. So why not fix that by drawing canon ponies. I wanted to also apply my current philosophy of drawing stuff in my own style with my own rules, so for this first try with Vinyl Scratch, I'm quite happy with the results! I've been playing a lot with light and neon effects, so having her performing a rave was art that makes itself for me, lol. Plus gave me an excuse to play around with the effects from the show and adapting them to how I'd do. For a first attempt at drawing ponies again? I'm pretty happy with the results! I want to make more now!

So... A friend recently convinced me to put together a bunch of MLP art and I've been itching to re-explore older fandoms I was in, so why not start with Vinyl Scratch?

Guess I'm back in the fandom, somewhat, lol.
