It's a #GarWeek #FossilFriday! Here's some of the ganoid scales off of gar that we routinely find when scouting in the Hell Creek. So far only 1 complete gar skeleton has been found in the HCF, and I found it a full 10 years before I found my first Tyrannosaurus.
Thanks to Dr. Solomon David, I have recently discovered the existence of #GarWeek . Gars, and especially alligator gars, mysterious denizens of dark water in my part of the world, are among my favorite animals, and I applaud his championing them to the wider, perhaps less gar-cognizant world.
