Edinilen bilgiye göre, samimi arkadaş olan Denizhan Deniz ve Uygar Özen, gece 02.30 sıralarında ırmak kenarına gelerek alkol almaya başladı. Bir süre sonra alkol alan gençlerin yanına isminin Mahmut E.Y. olduğu öğrenilen motosikletli bir şahıs gelerek, Denizhan Deniz ve Uygar Mahmut Eren ile birlikte alkol almayı sürdürdü. OLAY YERİNDE HAYATINI KAYBETTİ Kısa süre sonra aralarında tartışma çıktı. Kısa süre sonra gençler anasında henüz bilinmeyen bir nedenle tartışma çıktı. Tartışma büyüyerek yumruklaşmaya dönüşürken, bir süre sonra Mahmut E.Y. gençlerin yanlarında getirdiği meyveleri doğramak için kullandıkları bıçağı alarak Denizhan Deniz ve Uygar Özen'i defalarca bıçakladı. Denizhan Deniz, 20-25 metre ileride ırmak kenarında düştüğü yerde yaşamını yitirirken, Uygar Özen ise olay yerinden 100-150 metre ileride yaralı olarak bulundu. İhbar üzerine olay yerine Manavgat Emniyet Müdürlüğü ve 112 Sağlık ekipleri sevk edilirken, verilen adrese gelen ekipler bıçaklanan Denizhan Deniz'in olay yerinde yaşamını yitirdiğini belirledi. ANNESİ FENALIK GEÇİRDİ Aldığı bıçak darbeleri ile yaralanan Uygar Özen isimli genç ise sağlık ekiplerinin olay yerindeki müdahalesinin ardından ambulansla önce Manavgat Devlet Hastanesine ardından da hayati tehlikesi bulunması nedeniyle Antalya Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesine sevk edildi. Olayı duyan Denizhan Deniz'in ailesi, arkadaşları ve yakınları olay yerine akın ederken, annesi fenalık geçirdi. Denizhan Deniz'in cenazesi Olay Yeri İnceleme ekibi, Cumhuriyet Savcısı ve Adli Tabibin incelemelerinin ardından Antalya Adli Tıp Kurumuna gönderildi. POLİSE GİDEREK TESLİM OLMUŞ Olay yerinden kaçan cinayet zanlısı Mahmut E.Y.'nin ise kısa süre sonra Manavgat Emniyet Müdürlüğüne giderek teslim olduğu öğrenildi.
