This year I’ve continued to explore the 20x20km map centred on my home, taking inspiration from “Local” by @alastairhumphreys.bsky.social
I retraced paths well trod in 2024 & found new places to explore.
All while keeping it local in keeping with @thegreenrunners.bsky.social #HowWeMove pillar.
Heavy rain didn't dampen the mood at our Nottingham local meet-up this morning with Caren, Jon & Kev visiting Bestwood Village #parkrun. 🌳
Our trio travelled sustainably by foot, train & tram. #HowWeMove
They enjoyed a 5k run 🏃♀️ around the country park followed by a warming cuppa in the café. ☕️

Taking the train to and from a running event is a great way to reduce our impact on the climate, while letting the train take the strain.
Love that organisers are making it easier for people to do this. Kudos to The Way Of The Runner.

Route started at Okehampton & ended at Ivybridge railway stations. Myself & others therefore able to keep travel emissions low.
