Now that Shapeways has apparently risen from its ashes (with the help of @thangs3d.bsky.social ), I'm trying to design an interesting ring. Copies of this one nestle inside each other nicely. #3DPrinting #Mathematica #MeshLab

Custom node tree with basic pipeline

Some meshes are broken and crash #MeshLab on some filters. I usually import such mesh in #Blender and export, then open in MeshLab, process it and import back in Blender where i usually push vertices.
Some extra steps i encounter few times a year..

Pojan kanssa yhteinen projekti menossa, johon poika kysyi apuja kotelon mitoittamiseen ja mallinnukseen. Speksattuna vähintään 85 litrainen kotelo, jonka elementit vaativat suljettuna kotelona toimiakseen kunnolla.

No #Mathematica this time! Just #MeshLab 's Implicit Surface mesh, cleaned up with a couple Repair filters, followed by a Uniform Mesh Resampling.

Got this 8x8x8 (cm) beaut printing right now on a @prusa3d.com MK4 🤞🤞🤞

Merged two scans in MeshLab then in Blender i created outer shell. Circle cut-outs are done with geometry nodes and placed randomly with respect to mask. Next i need to figure out how to stick probes in the guy reliably..
