Candles is not at all what I was expecting. I like the idea of being able to buy them from Villagers, but not too exciting as the final trade for a Librarian.

I keep seeing the renaming for these recipes thought of as a hint for the future.
The names that got changed were all incorrect. This is most likely simply just a consistency fix. There is almost definitely no other purposeful connection here.

My predictions for Java Vibrant Visuals:
- July at latest: Snapshots begin testing with Vulkan API.
- While the community is testing during the fall drop cycle, Mojang begins building VV.
- VV shown at Minecraft Live in September for Winter Drop.

I think this is a very reasonable prediction. The refactoring part is already done it seems, so a couple months to test the new API, and then VV should be ready to build right on top and hopefully demo at #MinecraftLive in the Fall.

There's some interesting info here, but what I think is most important is that they're testing a new Graphics API in snapshots this summer — meaning Vibrant Visuals is almost definitely coming to Java sometime AFTER the summer drop.

The final snapshot/preview for Spring To Life were on March 5. Expecting two more for tweaks and fixes before Java goes to Pre-Release and Bedrock goes for certification.
