Leakage between conservation activities is an important thing that we certainly need to take much more into account. We still need to avoid strong plant and insect decline in the Global North though! #multifunctionality could help too.

Further, given recent extensions by Anne Chao, Lou Jost, & others, we can also deal with the problem of assessing #multifunctionality in the presence of correlated functions - a major sticking point in the field (which has even led to some back and forth)!

For the #multifunctionality crowd, a significantly re-written and more robust version of the multifunc package is now on CRAN! cran.r-project.org/web/packages/multifunc/i... - file issues as you see 'em on github still!

Not only that, but you can **account for correlations between functions**! Something that the field has argued a lot about!

We also think this addresses a lot of critiques by @Gamfeldt & others about the current state of #multifunctionality metrics.
