Most of my characters stay close enough to the cities that they don't need to do any adventure cooking. I have a few who do.
Mist and Rade. Mist is only 19 in the first novel and spent most of their traveling time, growing up, without a lot cooking utensils. 🧵
Been sick. Will try to do #NovemberWorldbuilders tomorrow.

Precise timings of the sun, moons, eclipses, and the astronomy side of astrology. It's so much maths but it's definitely worth it.

Trains. No I didn't have to go into that much detail about the train network but I like trains. So there are plenty of trains and how they work is slightly insane (putting my engineering degree into good use here).
COTBM takes place in an unnamed galaxy very different from our own, so I purposefully leave the origins of humanity vague. What I will say is that there *are* gods (sort of) and they *do* affect humans in a variety of ways. #NovemberWorldbuilders #WritingCommunity

Nothing I can say here is good and is probably a source of trauma for MC and a lot of other characters.
The raid on dragon island, probably? It destroyed so much history, nearly started a much bigger war, and many people died in the smaller wars that resulted.
#NovemberWorldbuilders 27
The sinking of the volcanoes in the southern sea. It's a dramatic legend with an almost war between gods and an epic romance that happened a few thousand years before the story began.
There are multiple versions of the story.
Day 1. Science in your fictional world.
There is Science as Henry is a scientist and is constantly making elixir's and such to help in his way.

The power vacuum after Selenelion's fall was filled by those who fought alongside the war heroes Rhema and Roma, twins who had been the rightful heirs of the Selenelion throne. Their closest companions took control over the territories split by The Dark Forest.
#NovemberWorldbuilders
Selenelion was largest and most powerful nation on the planet. It spanned the lands that would become Remine and Romalia and beyond. Selenelion was among the first nations established after of the Age of Monstrosities (when Goddess blood ran wild within the people).

I've been using words in ancient Sumerian as inspiration for old Fairy words, magical phrases, names, and assorted inspiration.

Day 30 of #novemberworldbuilders! Thank you so much for organizing this, Kira!
One of the most notable, for me, had to be polearm combat forms. I really do try hard to make my combat more realistic than 'cool', because that's the kind I appreciate most, so it involved two aspects:

#NovemberWorldbuilders picking this up for the last day.
Most of my research hasn't gone well. I wanted to learn more about leather making, bc that was mentioned in Named By Love, but I already knew everything I read in the article I found.
I did look up a bit about torches & lanterns,- 1/2

30. So I think I added most of the worldbuilding after doing reseach. The only thing I really had before was that they start in a cave and the city is a port town

30. Don’t think I’ve researched anything new and then added it. I’ve researched gems, crystals, certain injuries and other things to improve and add better detail/veracity to what is already present though.
(Here’s to an approaching week of typing #NovemberWorldbuilders, deleting and reposting! 🥂😂)
Hello everyone!
Sorry for disappearing without a word - I've been so busy lately.
I plan on mass-posting to catch up with the #WIPSnips and #NovemberWorldbuilders prompts so I can jump into the December ones with you all, but sadly it's at the "no promises" stage.
I hope to, I miss it here ♡
I made Astra obsessed with peanut butter. I learned about the different types of peanut butter. Connor is obsessed with history and will often recite historical facts as he's preparing to shoot someone with his sniper rifle. #NovemberWorldbuilders #WritingCommunity #WriterSky #WritingPrompt

I once spent about an hour researching Roman and Byzantine coinage to figure out exactly how much the coins in Karatera were worth in terms of weight and silver content. This was primarily to see if I needed to adjust the item prices for the RPG campaign I was ...

I added crystal buildings in western Karatera, made by sand-fusing magic from an age long past. I just think there's something cool about crystalline architecture.

I made them all obsessed with waffles. 🧇 Mostly because I love waffles. 🫣 Even the word 'waffles' is amazing. Waffles!

After researching astronomy, I added constellations & planets in my world. While Nequinum has the same months & days as we do, they have their own constellations & planets: 14 constellations & 5 planets.

Day 30
I re-read "A Midsummer Night's Dream" a couple times. I also looked for public-domain plays for Danny's audition. I found an old favorite- "Charlie's Aunt." I played Jack in high school and gave Danny some direction I wish I got back then.

Once I found out about renaissance Spains’s historical Guild of Royal Transhumance Shepherds, I knew I had to include an analogue to them in Mundus’ United Kingdoms of Yberia, Aragon and Castille.
Which is why Deedee and Free Company DC/AC wake to a million sheep bleating.

This is where @hippy-orc-cafe.bsky.social brings a ton to the table. We were torn on Ahn-Me's origin story until Stace hit a hyperfocus on cults. That's where (1/?)
30. Besides Sokomos? The Mese. Only I made it ✨️fantasy✨️. The Mese was the central road of Constantinople lined with shops. In Archyropol, it is a marketplace that runs the entire length of the city and basically a year-round open-air festival. A wonder of the world. #NovemberWorldbuilders #writesky

To be honest, the concept of magic was originally not meant to be part of Nixtral.
However, after researching different magic systems, I realized it would add an additional layer to my worldbuilding & allow me to get more creative w/ the stories.

Art by Luigiix - cover of "Demon King Daughter Book 1: Raising the Demon King" by P.J.C. Cahill. This text appears in black, red-outlined text at the bottom of the image. - Top Left (Hideyoshi) is an aged human man with silver hair, a long beard and mustache, and stern features. Top Right is a demon man (Torlash) with long, black hair, tall, thin horns, red-in-black, slitted eyes, and pale gray skin. - Middle of the image shows seven characters. From left to right: 1) Kiseki: (woman) short black hair, pale skin, brown eyes. Wears a gray sweater and black cargo pants. 2) Hasava: tall woman in a black business suit, with a white shirt and black tie. Her skin is pale, her hair long, black, and straight, and her eyes blue. 3) Issei: tan skin, brown eyes, short, brown hair, and a scruffy beard. There's hints of graying in his hair. He wears a brown jacket, a pale T-shirt, and jeans. 4) Seina: teenage girl in a mostly-white Japanese boy's school uniform. She has mildly tan skin, brown eyes, but vibrant green, neck-length hair. 5) Nori: adult woman holding a young child. Nori has sky-blue, short hair, brown eyes, and is wearing a simple white T-shirt and blue pants. 6) Himari: A little girl in a blue dress and shirt, with the same sky-blue hair as Nori. She is laughing happily with her eyes closed. 7) Yuuto: man in a dark dress shirt and black slacks. He is stern and muscular, with sharp features, short, brown hair with signs of gray, and brown eyes. - Bottom, foreground of the image features a mother (Masuyo) and daughter (Kyoka) pair. Masuyo is holding Kyoka on her hip, and they're both smiling happily at each other. Masuyo has neck-length, black hair, a tan skin, brown eyes, and is wearing a black leather jacket over a white shirt, with black pants. Kyoka has very dark, brown skin, short, messy black hair, and vibrantly red eyes. She's wearing a black hoodie, baggy shorts, and puffy white socks sticking out of her simple sneakers.
#NovemberWorldbuilders 30 - Demon King Daughter - Several of the demons based on actual IRL myths I tried to research and compare sources to make sure I wasn't being egregiously wrong or disrespectful with my fiction interp.
