Con datos globales estandarizados de #NutNet, cuantificamos la provisión de múltiples servicios ecosistémicos en tierras dedicadas al pastoreo🦌🐄🦬 y su respuesta a excluir herbívoros y fertilizar🌿🌏💫

Happy to share that our new paper is out!
We quantify multiple ecosystem services in rangelands with standardized global data from #NutNet 🦌🐄🦬, and show how their synergies and trade-offs shift with grazing exclusion and fertilization 🌿🌏💫

Fly my pretties!! 🧹
Psyched to get another round of soil sampling kits out the door for our #NutNet dryland carbon add-on! Even more psyched for an excuse to meet and work with so many other dryland enthusiasts 🌍 @soilcarbonsci.bsky.social @ecology-awesome.bsky.social

I struggle to get a soil core into the ground
Dan and I show off our soil cores in a West Texas rangeland
Sampled soils from our #NutNet plots for a project on arid land soil #carbon responses to #eutrophication. Dan had a much easier time than me!
Isa (our photographer, not pictured) will be helping to look at root trait-soil C interactions.
A lovely day for #fieldwork and we got quite the haul!
Successful field season at Auðkúluheiði with @verdonenm.bsky.social! Repeating vegetation surveys 4 yrs after stopping #NutNet fertilization to see how #tundra ecosystems recover with or without #grazing 🐏🌱🇮🇸
One more thing. Perhaps the reason one-time applications of K rarely show an effect in big experiments like #NutNet is that they are applied, w N and P, in May. K is so soluble that it doesn’t stick around.
