Page 8/8 of Fucked up, featuring Swallow (a fox, he/him) and Pebble (she/they). Swallow stands at the mouth of his den, lost in thought, when a voice startles him: "Hey!" It's Pebble. He yips, and Pebble laughs. "Pfft. For a pred, you're pretty unobservant." She stares at him, thinking through the situation. "So... obviously this will require ground rules." Later that night, Pebble is curled up in Swallow's arms again. He stares at them, confused. He's still thinking through everything Sam said, and everything that happened. He's having trouble connecting all the dots, figuring out why this otherwise helpless bunny that was scratching up his face a couple of hours ago is lying completely limp and relaxed underneath him. He can't figure it out. He keeps staring tor another minute, making connections, thinking through all the angles. Then he curls up and sticks his nose under Pebble's chin and the two of them drift off to sleep together. Whatever's going on, he's gonna go along with it <3

Page 7: Sam winks at Swallow: "You houls ask Pebble about it later. They'd explain it better." Swallow looks confused, then flabbergasted. Pebble is definitely not- Sam just laughs. "Don''t give me that. They'll be back~ You think you fucked up *that* bad? You give yourself far too much credit." "Look, you really don't understand how much this means to them, do you? They ponder for a second. "Honestly I don't think you're *capable* of ruining this." The two of them sit in silence while Swallow tries to process this. Sam admits: "I did tell them to bite you if you caused any trouble though." Swallow doesn't have to say anything for Sam to understand what he's thinking. "What?" Sam counters. "It's good advice! I'd give it again. Am giving it. To multiple bunnies. They're ALL gonna start biting you." Swallow: "..." Sam shrugs. "Well then you'll have to stop peeing on them, won't you?" Swallow: "..." Sam isn't buying it. "No I know what you were thinking. It's just that it was really, really dumb." Swallow walks home, confused, lost in his own thoughts - trying to process everything that's happened today.

Sam curls their tail around Swallow and remarks: "..you know, Pebble never asked to stay with me. It's not that I turned them down and then they came to you. They started with you." Swallow is flabergasted. He genuinely doesn't know how to react, the thought that Pebble chose to room up with him *instead* of Sam would have never occurred to him in a thousand years. Sam kind of laughs. "Weird, right? It's just something I've noticed for a while. Bunnies don't ask me for that." They elaborate: "It doesn't matter how much I practice this, or how safe I try to be around them. They come to me when they need some advice. Or an ''adult' to solve some conflict. Hell, I'm good at that. But not for stuff like this.." "Sometimes I think that's the problem. That they know I try. That makes it feel different in a way. Less trustworthy." Sam laughs again. They're not remotely troubled about this, they're just stating a fact. "Bunnies are so weird~" It's an affectionate statement.

Page 5/8. A hard cut to Sam (a fox, they/them) sitting in a field looking at a butterfly. A bruised, scratched up Swallow walks over, grumpbing. He's clearly had a bad day. "Well look who it is!" Sam teases. "Word on the bush is you've learned a valuable lesson about marking bunnies~" Swallow growls. "Oh is that so?" Sam laughs. "Well it sure looks like it was very educational~" Sam deadpans; he is so done with this shit. The two of them sit in silence for a moment as the clouds go overhead. "Hey, Swallow?" Sam finally says, more quietly this time. "I know it doesn't always feel like it. But I promise you are going to be okay."

Pebble continues: "I'm not exactly used to feeling.. safe. I guess that's not really news, that's universal, right? Not for you obviously, you probably feel safe all the time but.." She's rambling, trying to make herself more comfortable. Swallow has a blank look. FREN. The bunny wants to be HIS friend. They asked HIM to be the friend. This is difficult to process. "My point is", Pebble explains, "last time I slept that well was probably when I was 1. And there are things that you get used to because you have to.. so you do. But you don't get.." She stammers, almost like she's understanding it for the first time herself. "You don't get.. *used* to them. And there's a difference. Between those two things." Swallow's brain is working a mile a minute. The friend came TO him!? Bunnies LIKE him? Okay, calm down. You can work with this. You need to SEAL the DEAL. Pebble is pacing. "We can make this work, right? I mean, you're obsessed with bunnies all the time, and that should make me scared. But it doesn't. So you can be obsessed with me and.." Swallow's eyes narrow. Just FOCUS. Okay Swallow. You've got this. "I mean, you're not that weird, just awkward." Pebble takes a deep breath. "Sorry for rambling. I'm just a little nervous still.." JUST. "Truthfully", Pebble admits, "I'm a bit ashamed for judging you." BE. She sighs. "I have expected you to fuck this up." COOL. Swallow hikes his leg above her head while she's not looking, aiming down.. ><

"But... you seem open. So.. If you're feeling up for a longer-term roommate, I'm not sure what the formal way to ask is, but.." Pebble outstretches a paw. "Friend?" Swallow stares at her, startled, blushing a little, utterly taken back at the offer. It's everything he's ever dreamed of. <3

Swallow YIPS in fear when he realizes how much he's been cuddling Pebble. They laugh: "It's okay! You're fine! You're not in trouble! A bit of cuddling is fine~" The bunny snuggles up closer: "I only woke you up 'cause you were sleeping late." She looks smug. "I mean it, don't be nervous. You passed this test with flying colors, dude. And I know how cuddly you want to be. you cuddle *hard* when you're asleep." Swallow is blushing and sweating, and Pebble is enjoying the brief role reversal. "I'ts really cute~", she teases. Swallow flips her down onto her tummy and sticks out his tongue. Pebble looks nervous, but consents. "Licking is fine, just.. don't go.. too overboard?" Swallow begins to groom them, and they nervously reflect on the feeling. "You're ok.. I'm fine. I'm fine." Swallow gives a biiig yawn and Pebble startles. "AH! A little less of *THAT* though please!" She's getting a big mawshot right in her face!
I love Pebble alternating from "haha, I'm more comfortable than *you* >:3" to "Okay more than I bargained for!!"

A bunny and a fox are cuddling; the fox is fast asleep, pulling the bunny tightly to his chest. She looks up at him blushing. The fox is labeled Swallow (he/him), and the bunny is labeled Pebble (she/they). Pebble looks up at Swallow's face and smiles a little when she sees him blep. She squirms a little - he's still completely conked out, and holding her somewhat tightly. She navigates one of her forepaws free and digs into his side, trying to wake him up.
