I like how they have inlaid stones at the #Sounder stations that indicate where the doors will be. The stations always quiet in the morning and everyone just lines up single file at each position. I am pretty thankful that this exists as a viable option

Great work in Bothell & thanks to Urbanist.
Mind-blowing, though, that Ryan Packer and #TheUrbanist never even mention the relative lack of public transport (especially rail) in #Bothell, its relative isolation, w/zero plans for adding it to either #Sounder or our medium-rail Sound-Transit system. 🤦♂️

Train time time for train!! Honestly it’s kind of a toss up between train commute and driving commute. I’ll probably end up driving the first bit to compare and because it’s more in my control, and maybe get a scooter to get from king st station into downtown?

American author and teacher William H. Armstrong was born on this day in 1911. He is best known for the unique storytelling in the young-adult novel, Sounder. The book is about a Black child and his sharecropper family in the Jim Crow South, though the place and the characters have no names. Armstrong, who was white, wrote, “With names they would represent one family. Without names they become universal – representing all people who suffer privation and injustice, but through love, self-respect, devotion, and desire for improvement, make it in the world.”
