I'd spent an afternoon into dusk with this, his herd of Bighorn Sheep. The alpha ram was actively listening to my soft voice. He would often tilt his head like this, acknowledging my words. Even though I keep my distance, using my long lenses, I speak with them. Letting them know that I am nearby & calm; that I can pose no threat. Both rams & ewes listen (as do the lambs!) and seem to appreciate my cautious but open presence. They often move past me as I remain practically motionless. My opportunities for great images are constant, even as many moments also escape my shutter releases. Hence, I have as many astonishing memories even beyond what my cameras/lenses can be given.
