In short, imo it took 10 Doctors and over 45 years after #TheInvasion for the next true Cybermen classic to arrive, as the finale of 12's 1st season.
Not much to say about the card, which is a layup for representing the ship that delivers the attack on London in The Invasion.
is lost. L-S was introduced as a colonel in #TheWebOfFear, but promoted by the time of his return in #TheInvasion. After sharing a lot of screentime with 3, the Brigadier would also go on to have adventures with 4, 5, and 7. 6 would probably have gotten his turn too if there'd been time. (2/4)

With the Daleks out of play, the #Cybermen were the iconic villain of the #SecondDoctor era, featured in 4 stories: #TheMoonbase, #TheTomboftheCybermen, #TheWheelinSpace, and #TheInvasion.
The second of these is the only 60s Cybermen story without missing (1/3)
#TheInvasion intro still gives me chills, even in the third season. Great science fiction series on #AppleTVPlus.
For the sake of the series, I hope #Apple releases it on other streaming platforms as well to bring in more people.

Time has been a lot kinder than I thought to The Invasion (2007).
It's not perfect and it's got some questionable editing decisions but it's far, far better than I thought when I watched it on its original release.
Kidman & Craig are great as is Jeffrey Rush, recommended.
