Today is the 5th anniversary of #Minecraft data pack #worldgen! Snapshot 20w28a added the ability to define custom biomes, structures, etc. through data packs. It's hard to overstate the impact this change had on modded worldgen. Very proud of what our community has made with it so far! #mcdev

Downloaded the tech demo Preface by @playerunknown.net‬ -- As I understand it they're using machine learning trained on real earth data to create terrain, unlike layered noise used by NMS, and hope to eventually integrate that method into the real-time #worldgen for their actual game, Prologue.

The garden awakens with CliffTree 2.0, featuring a spin on the pale gardens, as well as new river caves that go through terrain!
